The inability of organizations to effectively communicate their products have confirmed to reduce their income level thereby leading to a low profitability. This is partly due their inability to effectively communicate their business to their consumers of their products or service. These are attributable to factors such as poor and ineffective communication between the producer using detailed questionnaire and analysed. With an R2 of 51.9, it posits that 51.9 percent of profitability level are determined by effective communication. The study revealed that existence of effective business communication in an organization has a positive effect on goal achievement; enhancement of customer patronage and overall business development and this will lead to organizational profitability. The study therefore recommend that business should put in place effective communication system that will help in achieving higher rates of returns which will lead to higher profit.Item Financial of small medium Agro Allied Enterprises in Nigeria: the way forward(Journal of Leadership, Management and Administration, 2014-01-08) Kadiri, I.B; Rotimi, A.G.The inability of small and medium Agro allied enterprises in Nigeria to obtain sufficient credit for their operations has became a major albatross for their existence. This paper examines the credit administration and delivery system in the informal financial sector of the Nigerian economy and observes that it precludes the effective performance of small-scale Agro allied industries; which severed as a main source of food security and employment generation to the nation. IN applying correlation coefficient, Binary logic and ANOVA Statistical techniques for data analysis, the paper revealed that the current level of credit availability from the informal financial sector to the small scale Agro allied enterprises in the country is grossly inadequate and need to be expanded. Also, there is lack of government support for people’s Empowerment and Self employment . the study therefore, recommends for the increased in both formal and informal financing of agro allied enterprises in the country. This requires putting in place effective regulatory reforms, institutional arrangements and capital investments that will result in synergetic effect on development of Agro allied enterprises in Nigeria.Item Formal SMEs fiancing for rural poverty reduction: A study of selected local government area in kwara state.(Department of local government development studies. Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, 2014-09-07) Adebayo, P.O; Kadiri, I.B; Badmus, D.Arecent development project in Nigeria has been concentrated on urban area with no regard for rural areas. these have resulted in poor economy growth and high concentration of poverty in the rural area. in an attempt to address this rural SMEs has become paramount. this study investigate the relationship between SMEs financing and rural poverty reduction. a survey of 120 SMEs were undertaking across tow local government area on strata of ago-allied, manufacturing, trading/service with the aid of questionnaire. a total of 80 copies correctly filled and returned questionnaire were analyzed with correlation and t-test analysis. the result of the findings revealed the correlation coefficient of SMEs finance and poverty reduction equal o0.685 i.e 68.5%. this implies that SMEs finance have a positive correlation with rural poverty reduction. as increase in the formal leads to decrease in the later. the study concludes that formal and informal finance available for rural SMEs operators are crossly inadequate to cater for their financial need. it is also concluded that poor access to financing is not the only SMEs constraint as other include low managerial skills, infrastructure inadequacy, poor policy support and asymmetry. the study recommends among other that government should provide a platform for credit guarantee that will be responsible for provide collateral for rural SMEs.Item THE IMPACT OF CHANNEL DISTRIBUTION ON ORGANISATIONAL SURVIVAL;A STUDY OF SELECTED SMEs IN LAGOS STATES(center for enterpreneurship and service learning, federal university kashere, 2014-08-01) Kadiri, I.B; GBADEYAN, R.A.; OGUNJOBI, J.O.Past studies have attributed the inability of SMEs to frontier the economic development of Nigeria to lack of access to finance. However, current wisdom shows that most SMEs die within the first few years of their existence despite their access to credit. Towards the end, a detailed purposive questionnaire was administered to 200 respondents, while 155 duly completed and returned it. A bivariate (chi square) method of analysis was then employed to analyse the data obtained. The study posited the SMEs should as a matter of urgency carry out the distribution function of their product so as to guarantee their continued survival and profit on the long run.Item IMPACT OF FRAUD ON ORGANIZATIONAL PROFITABILITY: A STUDY OF SELECTED BANKS IN NIGERIA(Ilorin Journal of Marketing, 2015) Adeoti, Johnson Olabode; Kadiri, I.B; Olawale, Y.A.; Abdulraheem, M.The development in the banking industry over the years have resulted into complex and diverse situations. The traditional banking era have been replaced with modern methods due to the emergence of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). These developments have also influenced the practices as well as the nature of work in the industry. However as new technologies were developed new methods of defrauding and fraudulent acts were often perpetrated by customers as well as bank staffs. This paper therefore seeks to examine the impact of fraud on organizational profitability. Fraud and fraudulent activities pose a significant problem to the banking industry in Nigeria. Multiple regression analysis was used to examine the impact of the fraud on organizational profitability in Nigeria selected banks. Detailed questionnaire were used to obtain the required information from the respondents. However, due to the stringent measures adopted by the regulatory body to tackle the menace of fraud and fraudulent activities, there was a significant decrease between 2006 and 2011. The paper concluded that fraud and fraudulent activities inflict severe financial difficulties on banks and their customers. They reduce the amount of money available for the development of the organization. The study recommended that banks in Nigeria need to strengthen their infernal control systems and the regulatory bodies should improve their supervisory role in order to check and curtail the incidence of fraud and fraudulent activities in Nigeria banking industry.Item Impact of ICT on the management of SMEs turnover in Ilorin metropolis, kwara state(Department of Business Administration, University of Ilorin, ilorin, Nigeria, 2016-03-02) Kadiri, I.B; Suleiman, A.A.small and medium enterprises play very important role in the process of industrialization sustainable economy growth. SMEs die soon as they were established because their production process, marketing of their output as well as their turnover neglected thereby almost impossible to estimate their growth pattern. the emergence of computer application to SMEs will result into growth of internet and other communication network, growing diversity of business transaction and increase competition. the internet is fast becoming foundation for new business models, process and marketing of industrial products. this study therefore, examine the impact of computer application to the management of small business operation in ilorin metropolis. a structure questionnaire was administered and linear regression analysis was used to analyzed the data obtained. the result of ANOVA 0.001 signifies that SMEs that SMEs that use ICT in the management of their turnover are more profitable than those that do not use it. the paper therefore, recommends that SMEs should intensify efforts in the use of ICT in the operation to enhance their productivity.Item Impact of Organisational Culture on Employees’ Performance in Selected Pharmaceutical Companies in Nigeria(Academy of Taiwan Business Management Review, 2019) Isiaka, S.B.; Kadiri, I.B; Adeoti, J.O.; Saka, M.J.; Suleiman, A.A; Jimoh, A.L.The various studies on organisational culture have shown that employees in most of the business organisations in Nigeria today are operating under the whims and caprices of the owner’s established beliefs, values and norms which are usually difficult to change as environment changes. Failure in the attempt to properly capture the interest of the employees when addressing this, usually generate the exhibition of some attitudes and behaviours that are inconsistent with the company’s best interests. Therefore, this study examines the impact of organizational culture on employees’ performance with reference to selected Pharmaceutical companies in Nigeria. The study adopted a survey research design. Primary data was used to obtain the needed information through structured questionnaire. Out of 634 permanent staff of the selected pharmaceutical companies in Nigeria, simple random sampling technique was used to select a sample of 239 respondents. Multiple regression used to test the formulated hypothesis. The result of the regression showed that organizational culture has significant impact on employees’ performance (R Square of 0.684, p-value=0.0001). The study concludes that organization culture has a significant relationship as well as a good influence on employees’ performance. Also, significant differences exist in the level of adherence to the identified cultural dimensions. The study therefore recommended that the Pharmaceutical companies in Nigeria should promote organisational culture, especially by paying more attention to detail so as to yield positive and significant contribution to employees’ performance.Item IMPACT OF STRESS AND ITS MANAGEMENT AMONG SME OPERATORS IN ILORIN METROPOLIS: THE BURNOUT SELT TEST APPROACH(Department of business administration, Lagos state university, Ojo, 2017-10-12) Kadiri, I.BConsiderable attention has not been paid to the issue of stress and its management both in the public and private sectors of the nation’s economy. Many of the SMEs in the country may have died as a result of stress often encountered by the frontiers of these businesses. Past studies particularly, in Nigeria have shown that majority of these firms do not live beyond five years. It was observed from the study that majority of the respondents scored between 50 and 59 meanings that they are at severe risk of burnout. The study population is 650 registered SMEs in Ilorin metropolis.. A multi stage sampling technique was used to select the SMEs, Stratified random sampling technique was further adopted to select the SMEs that were taken as samples. One hundred and eighty agro allied SMEs (180) and four hundred and seventy (470) non agro allied registered SMEs were selected. The study findings revealed specifically, 83 per cent of the SME operators in the agro allied sector fell between 50 and 73 percent signaling between severe and very severe risk of burnout. The study concludes that ability to study oneself and be more aware of stressors and to watch physical and emotional reactions to stressors. Therefore, the study recommend among others were to practice time management techniques and manage one owned life accordingly. This will go a long way to achieve prioritizing in daily routines. Sit down and be comfortable.Item Small and medium enterprises and employment generation for poverty reduction in Nigeria: the role of government(ilorin journal of business and social sciences, 2010-09-29) Kadiri, I.B; Olaoye, J.Arecent insights now show that the term poverty, which traditionally was believed to mean lack of income, also refers to lack of access to good health, education, security and other social services. efforts at providing solutions to this malaise facing developing nations of the world by various governments are often faced with stiff opposition, sometimes right from conception. this is largely because poverty is devoid of any universal definition and its focus and solutions have continued to change over time. the aim of this study therefore, is to examine the role of government influencing small and medium enterprise as a panacea for employment generation and poverty reduction in Nigeria. to achieve this objective, the step-wise logistic regression analysis- a form of Binomial logistic regression Analysis was used. the choice of this method of analysis was informed by the nature of the dependent variable (poverty), which is dichotomous. the study is of the opinion that using this poverty reduction strategy entails an increase in the average monthly income of the respondents. as a way out, the study suggests that government should, as a matter of urgency, provide the enabling environment as well as infrastructure such as roads, water, electricity, etc. the study is of the view that these efforts will reduce the cost of doing business, increases retained earning of the SMEs, average monthly income, create employment and reduce poverty on the long run.Item small and medium enterprises in Nigeria: Problems and prospects(Department of Business Administration, University of ilorin, ilorin, Nigeria, 2008-09-12) Kadiri, I.Bit is evident from literature that the role of small and medium enterprise (SMEs) development for employment generation, wealth creation, poverty reduction and economic development still need be investigated in developing economies of the world. the SMEs is believed to have played dominant role in the growth and development of the Asian Tiger and other developed economies of the world. it served as the engine room used to energize the economy for better performance. however, in the last two decades, overt efforts have been put in place in Nigeria to promote the sector in order to reposition the economy from its ailing state. various programmes were put in place to achieve these objectives. the paper observe that jack of adequate market. inadequate finance, lack of indigenous technology , dearth of research and development, unfavorable government policies and poor infrastructure facilities have often belittle these efforts. the paper is therefore, of the opinion that upgrading and expansion of infrastructures such as good roads and electricity must be vigorously pursued. also, there is the need by Banks to streamline and simplify the regulatory procedures so as assist the SMEs to obtain finance at the least costs. the paper is also of the view that SMEs should improve on its production process and quality control to meet export standard.Item TALENT MANAGEMENT AND EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT: A STUDY OF GUARANTY TRUST BANK IN ILORIN METROPOLIS(SOKOTO JOURNAL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES, 2017-09-12) Kadiri, I.B; jimoh, A.LIt is commonly understood that engaged employees are motivated to contribute to the success of the organization. Literature also reveals that work engagement which comes from job satisfaction is derived from effective talent management practices, which results in lower employee turnover and productivity of the organization. Survey research method was adopted. Simple random sampling technique was employed to select respondents from the stratums of managers and non-managerial staff from each branch of then Bank. While 178 respondents represent the study sample size. Questionnaire was the main instrument of Data Collection. Data obtained were analyzed with the help of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software. Pearson Product Moment Correlation analysis was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that there is a positive and significant relationship between talent management and employee engagement and also that employee engagement and labour turnover are significantly related related. The study concludes that talent management has significant effect on employee engagement and invariably labour turnover in GT Bank Ilorin, Nigeria. The study recommends that Effective and efficient talent management must be put in place. This implies; right recruitment, development, motivation and retention of talents to minimize Employee disengagement.
