Item APPLICATION OF COLLATION METHODS FOR THE NUMERIC SOLUTION OF INTEGRO-DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS BY CHEBYSHEV POLYNOMIALS(2011) Taiwo, O. A.; Falade, K. I.; Bello, K. A.Integro – differetial equations find special applicability within scientific and mathematical discipline.. In this work, the application of some collocation methods for solving Integro-Differential equations presented. We employed two collocation methods namely, Standard and Perturbed collocation methods and the following collocation points namely, Equally spaced interior collocation, Chebyshev Gauss – Lobatto collocation and Chebyshev Gauss-Radau collocation points were used. Errors analysis and illustrative examples were included to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the methods MATLAB 7 was used to carry out the computation. We conclude the collocation methods discussed can be used as a novel solver for linear Integro – differential equations.Item Effect of Hawking of Anti-Maleria Drugs on the Buying Attitudes of Rural Dwellers in Selected Local Government Areas of Kwara State(Department of Marketing, Faculty of Management Sciences, River State University.Port Harcourt., 2017) Bello, K. A; Abubakar, A.In this paper, the application of standard collocation method on fractional integro-differential equation was carried out by assuming a modified trial solution with chebyshev polynomial basis. Equally spaced interior collacation points was adopted. In built maple 18 was used for the computation of the four illustrative examples, for the simple demonstration of the applicability, validity and reliability of the method .It is however concluded that the method is considered as one of the novel solver of the class of fractional integro-differential equation.Item Global Stability of HBV Epidemic Model(Nigerian Association of Mathematical Physics, 2015-11-01) Dotia, A. K.; Ibrahim, M. O.; Bello, K. A.; Yisa, B. M.; Ahmed, B. M.In this paper, we present an hepatitis B model with multiple transmission ways of the acute counsel, uncounsel and carrier infection classes and derive basic reproduction number, which indicates that hepatitis B is endemic. Existence of disease free and endemic equilibrium state are carried-out. The disease free and endemic equilibrium are shown to be globally asymptotically stable. In addition, we obtained numerical simulation to verify the model predictions. The results suggest that the endemic nature of the model was stable. However, if the control measures put in place can be maximize, then the model can be used to predict the effectiveness of the prophylactic vaccination program in sustaining the population from the spread of the disease.Item Global Stability of HBV Epidemic Model(2015) Dotia, A. K.; Ibrahim, M. O.; Ejieji, C.N.; Bello, K. A.; Ahmed, B.M.; Ajanaku, B.K; Kazeem, A. B.; Lawan, A. O.In this paper, we present an Age-Structured hepatitis B model. This epidemic model is investigated for different classes of infectious diseases that can be transmitted through an effective contact with infective individuals, who are contagious. The Graph-Theoretic Method for the Basic Reproduction Number was obtained. In addition, the numerical simulation is used to virtually verify the model predictions. The result suggest that the endemic nature of the model is approaching equilibrium with increase immunization program and other control measures put in place.Item Impact of social media on Customers Patronage of Shoprite in the Southern West Nigeria(Faculty of Management sciences, University of Jos., 2018) Abdulraheem, M.; Bello, K. A.; Taiwo, O. A.In this paper, we consider the numerical treatment of one-dimensional time-fractional partial differential equations by Iterative Decomposition Method (IDM) and Laplace Iterative Decomposition Method (LIDM). Comparative study of the numerical results of illustrative examples of the two methods show that the two methods compared favourable in terms of efficiency, conveniency and accuracy. The major advantage demonstrated by the two methods over some other methods in the literature is their ability to handle non linear problems directly.Item Multiple Perturbed Collocation Tau-method for Solving High Order Linear and Non-Linear Boundary Value Problems(2014) Adebisi, A. F.; Taiwo, O. A; Adewumi, A.O; Bello, K. A.This paper is concerned with the numerical solution of high order linear and nonlinear boundary value problems of ordinary differential equations by Multiple Perturbed Collocation Tau Method (MPCTM). We assumed a perturbed apporoximate solution in terms of Chebyshev polynomial basis function which is subtituted into the special class of the problem considered. Thus, resulting into n-folds integration. After evaluation of n-fold integration, the resulting equation is then collocation at equally spaced interior points and the unknown constants in the approximate solution are then obtained by Gaussian elimination method which are then substituted back into the approximate solution. The proposed method is tested on several numerical examples, the approximate solution is in agreement with the exact solution. The approximate results obtained by the proposed method confirm the convergency of numerical solutions and are compared favourably with the existing methods available in literature.Item Numerical Integration of Seventh Order Boundary Value Problems by Standard Collocation Method via Four Orthogonal Polynomials(Unilorin Press, 2017) Bello, K. A.; Taiwo, O. A.; Abdulkareem, A.; Abubakar, J. U.; Adebisi, F.A.Based on standard collocation technique, four (4) different orthogonal polynomials were used as basis functions in the numerical treatment of seventh (7th) order boundary value problems in Ordinary Differential Equations. The performance of each of these polynomials as basis function in the trial solution was then compared. The results obtained from three examples showed that Chebyshev polynomial is the best in term of performance, and closely followed by Hermites polynomial, which was followed by Legendre poly-nomial while the least in performance is Laguerre polynomial.Item OPTIMAL CONTROL ON HEPATITIS B VIRUS MODEL WITH NON-MONOTONIC INCIDENCE FUNCTION(2019) Dotia, A. K.; Ibrahim, M. O.; Ejieji, C.N.; Bello, K. A.; Ahmed, B.M.; Ajanaku, B.; Kazeem, A. B.; Lawan, A. O.In this paper, a time- dependent model of prophylactic vaccination HBV is considered. This epidemic model is being investigated for various infectious disease classes, counsel and uncounsel. Mathematical analyzes are performed to determine the positivity and we applied an optimal control strategies in the form of vaccination to minimize or eradicate transmission from mother to child. The study concluded that prophylactic vaccination is not an efficient way to curb the epidemic.Item Optimal Test Strategies for HBV-HIV Co-Infection Model(2019) Dotia, A. K.; Ibrahim, M. Mathematical analyses are carried out, which determines the positivity of solution and optimal control. This study examined the effectiveness of the efforts put in place in eliminating the birth of prenatally infected chronic carrier mother, considering the efficacy of prophylactic vaccine against the incidence of new cases. The scheme shows that the disease can be resisted with vaccination(s) and treatment.Item Product Positioning Strategies and Customer’s Choice of Cosmetic Products in Lagos State Nigeria(Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Ilorin., 2019) Olowo, A. O.; Bello, K. A.; Yisa, B. M.; Ahmed, B. M.In this paper, we present an hepatitis B model with non-monotonic incidence function. The model, which is of the form of system of nonlinear differential equations, are constructed. This epidemic model is investigated for different classes of infectious diseases that can be transmitted through an effective contact with an infective individuals, who are contagious (symptomatic and asymptomatic carrier). Mathematical analysis are carried out, that determines the equilibria solutions and stability analysis of the equilibria of the model, using nonlinear Lyapunov function of Goh-Volterra type. In addition, we obtained the numerical simulation to verify the model predictions. The result suggest that the endemic nature of the model is approaching equilibrium with increase immunization program and other control measures put in place.
