They had an age range of 19 – 27 years. Standardized instruments used include stop watch, whistle, obstacles/marking cones, exercise mat, football goal, 400m athletic track and balls. The instruments were used to conduct Illinois agility, muscular endurance, V02max and shooting tests. Descriptive statistics of frequency counts, percentage, mean and standard deviation were used for answering the research question while one-way analysis of variance was used to test the hypothesis at 0.05 alpha level. The findings showed 77.8% of the players had high agility score (17.3 ± 2.4), all of them had high muscular endurance (45 ± 3.8 reps-1), shot effectiveness (31.3 ± 7.0 points) and poor V02max (25.4 ± 3.1ml/kg-1). Only agility F(2, 17) = 1.624, p< 0.05 had significant influence on shot effectiveness of the participants while age range, muscular endurance and V02max {F(2, 17 =0.816, 1.908, 1.629} Had no significant influence on shot effectiveness. Based on this finding, it was concluded that agility is a major physiological factor that influence shot effectiveness of the participants.
