Abstract
ThisStudyfocusesontheproblemsfacedbywomeninaccessingbasicliteracy
educationinKwarastate.Thestudyadopteddescriptivesurveytypeofresearchdesign.
Thesampleforthestudyconsistsof200respondentsrandomlyselectedfrom different
centresinthestate.Theinstrumentusedfordatacollectionwasaquestionnairetitled
‘’ProblemsandprospectsofwomenaccesstobasicliteracyeducationinKwaraState’’
(PPWABLEQ).Datacollectedwasanalysedusingdescriptivestatisticaltechniqueand
weightedmeanscoreof2.5asacriterionmeanscorefordecision.Conclusionwas
drawnrecommendationsmade.Amongothersgovernmentsatalllevelsshould
encouragewomentoparticipateinbasicliteracyeducation;.andthatGovernmentatall
levelsshouldprovidenecessarytoolsneededfortheeffectiveandefficient
implementation of the Programme to achieve the desired goals.
