Item APPLICATION OF TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT (TQM) IN HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS: IMPLICATION ON PATIENT’S SATISFACTION IN KWARA STATE SPECIALIST HOSPITALS.(Advances in Management, 2011) Adeoti, Johnson Olabode; Lawal, Adedoyin Ishola; Tsado, EmmanuelThis paper seeks to investigate whether the implementation of Total Quality Management in Specialist Hospitals in Kwara State has a relationship with the patients’ satisfaction or not. Total Quality Management (TQM) practice has been adjudged to be a magic wand that helps management to check product or services defects on the spot. TQM enables the management to trace the point of breakage of quality and engenders the commitment of all organization members to quality goals of the organization. Four specialist hospitals were selected for the study from four different local governments lfelodun, Ilorin East, Moro and Offa, 200 questionnaires were distributed among the local governments on the basis of 50 per local government. This paper concludes that there is a direct linkage between patient’s satisfaction and the implementation of TQM in specialist hospitals in Kwara State. In other words, TQM enhances patents’ satisfaction.Item BUILDING RELATIONSHIP MARKETING THROUGH PARABLE AND STORYTELLING(Babcock Journal of Management and Social Sciences, 2013-11) Gbadeyan, Rotimi A.; Adeoti, Johnson Olabode; Ebenezer, A. AloToday most firms have realized the need to retain customers rather than search for the new prospects due to more cost and persuasive effort required to manage them. However, there is high rate of new products failure which indicates the absence of repeat purchase and no brand loyalty for these new products. Stories and parables are effective tools in passing information from one person or organisation to another. They are also needed to build relationship in marketing. The major problem faced by organisations is that this message sometimes may not be clearly and meaningfully communicated and hence, results to ineffective marketing of products and services. The objective of this paper therefore, is to examine how storytelling and parables are employed to build customer’s loyalty for firm’s products. Population sample of 1687 respondents were considered for the study in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. The respondents voluntarily participated in the survey and are basically consumers of household products. Questionnaire instrument was designed to elicit information from customers about the significance of storytelling as one of the marketing communication strategies used in building Relationship Marketing. G* Power 3.1 Software Package was used to perform data analysis. Findings revealed that personal selling is the most significant medium through which customers build brand loyalty. Also, parables and Storytelling are powerful forms of human communication that marketing executives employ to achieve long time relationship with customers. The paper recommends that marketers should endeavour to tell true story and make it appeal to customers’ senses. It is concluded that, building long time relationship through storytelling and parable will go a long way in determining the organization’s success, in terms of increase profitability and market share. Organisations therefore, need to develop effective means of communicating messages to their prospects and maintain profitable customer in order to achieve overall success and growth.Item Capital Flight and the Economic Growth: Evidence from Nigeria(Binus Business Review, 2017-08) Adedoyin, Isola Lawal; Promise, Kelechi Kazi; Adeoti, Johnson Olabode; Godswill, Osagie Osuma; Sunday, Akinmulegun; Bamidele, IloThis research examined the impact of capital flight and its determinants on the Nigerian economy using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model to analyze data source from the period of 1981 to 2015. The variables included current account balance, capital flight, foreign direct investments, foreign reserve, inflation rate, external debt, and the real gross domestic product. It was to examine the existence of a long run relationship among the variables studied. The result indicates that capital flight has a negative impact on the economic growth of Nigeria. Therefore, the government needs to implement policies that will promote domestic investment and discourage capital flight from Nigeria.Item DETERMINANTS OF BANKS PATRONAGE IN NIGERIA: THE SEARCH, EXPERIENCE AND CREDENCE FACTORS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT(Journal of Sustainable Development in Africa, 2018) Adeoti, Johnson Olabode; Isiaka, Sulu Babaita`; Adebisi, Olubunmi Adebola; Lawal, Adedoyin Isola; Olawale, Yinusa AlabiThis study seeks to examine Search, Experience and Credence (SEC) factors as determinants of banks’ patronage and its implication on fund mobilization and fund applications for sustainable development in Nigeria. Purposive and convenience sampling techniques were employed to select the sample size of the account holders in the selected banks. Data were collected by use of self-administered questionnaire on a 7-point Likert scale. Findings revealed that Search attributes ranked higher followed by Experience attributes and the Credence attributes in that order. The study concluded that bank customers are highly sensitive to the SEC before making decision about patronage. Therefore, Service Organizations like banks should consider these when developing strategy for customers’ patronage. The paper recommends that banks’ marketers and customer relationship officers should be properly trained on the importance of SEC attributes in order to attract customers for patronage.Item Effect of Motivational Factors on Employees’ Productivity: A Case Study of Dangote Flour Mills Plc. Ilorin Plant, Kwara State(Entrepreneurial Journal of Management Sciences, 2015) Adeoti, Johnson Olabode; Abdulraheem, M.; Olawale, Yinusa A.The study is designed to find out the effect of motivational factors on employees’ productivity in Dangote Flour Mills Plc. Ilorin plant. The factors considered were salary and wages, pension scheme, working conditions, employees’ training and development and employees participation in decision making. The objectives are to examine the effect of motivational factors on employees’ productivity and to determine factors that motivate the employees. The study will find out the motivational factors used in Dangote Flour Mills Plc. Ilorin and how effective these motivational factors are. Two hundred questionnaires were administered to the respondents out of which one hundred and eighty was returned. The data collected were analysed using frequency count, percentages and the Z-test statistical technique. The result depicts that motivational factors have effect on employees’ productivity. 82.2% of the total respondents strongly agreed that motivational factors have effect on employees’ productivity. It was concluded that factors identified to be promotional factors have effect on employees’ productivity. Based on the findings it was recommended that the management of every organisation should ensure that motivational factors are put in place and reviewed to boost employees’ morale and increase productivity.Item THE EFFECT OF PROMOTIONAL STRATEGIES ON THE SALES OF PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCT: A CASE STUDY OF EVANS MEDICAL PLC(Lapai International Journal of Management and Social Sciences (LIJOMASS), 2014-06-05) Adeoti, Johnson Olabode; Olawale, Yinusa AlabiThe study is designed to find out the effect of promotional strategies on the sales of pharmaceutical product. The factors considered are sales and profit growth, customer's loyalty and influence of competitors. The objective is to determine the effect of promotional strategies on sales and profits of pharmaceutical companies and the effect of promotional strategies on customer's patronage. One hundred questionnaire.s were administered to the respondents by the researcher. The data collected were analysed using frequency count, percentages and regression statistical technique. The results depicts that there is a positive relationship between promotional strategies and sales and profit as well as customers patronage of pharmaceutical product. Yinusa; A, M.Promotion is one of the marketing tools employed by organizations to influence consumers’ response and increase company sales and profitability Service oriented companies like Mr. Biggs Foods use sales promotion as a strategy for attracting and retaining consumers profitability. Thus, this study seek to determine whether sales promotion influences customers response, increased sales and profit of Mr. Biggs Foods located in Taiwo Road, Tanke Junction and Muritala Road in Ilorin Metropolis. Three hundred and fifty questionnaires were administered to customers but only two hundred and eighty were returned by the respondents to the researcher. The data collected were analyzed using simple percentage and Z-Test statistical Techniques. The results revealed that sales promotion strategy of the company influence consumers’ response and increase company sales and profitability. Based on the findings, it was recommended that sales promotion strategy of Mr. Biggs should be improved to increase customer’s patronage and boost organizations sales and profit.Item An Empirical Analysis of Factors Motivating Students To Study Entrepreneurship Courses in University of Ilorin(Uniosun International Journal of Management Sciences, 2015-11) Gbadeyan, Rotimi A.; Adeoti, Johnson Olabode; Abogunrin, A.P.There has been an increase in the rate of unemployment in most developing countries in recent time due to less job openings with attendant geometric increase in the number of graduates being released by the Universities and other institutions to the already saturated labour market. This has become a major challenge to policy makers in private and government sector in these countries. Therefore, in order to address this phenomenon, students are being encouraged to learn some entrepreneurial skills through exposure to Entrepreneurship courses, while still in the school. This paper’s objective is to examine factors motivating students’ enrolment in entrepreneurial courses in Nigeria Tertiary Institutions. The Survey research method was used to collect data from randomly selected 450 graduating students of Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Ilorin. There were 437 questionnaires completed and returned. The Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Pearson Correlation statistical techniques were employed to test the hypotheses raised in the study. It was revealed through ANOVA at 99% significant level (with F=100.419, d.f= 2) that Students’ lack of interest in Entrepreneurship Courses has significant effect on the type of job they desire to do after graduation. The paper concluded that the content of the Entrepreneurship courses being offered to the students need to be made to be more practical oriented and applicable to solving unemployment problem. The study recommended that the students training in entrepreneurship courses should be backed up with industrial attachment for it to have more effect on their choice of trade or vocation after graduation.Item THE IMPACT OF CELEBRITY ENDORSEMENT ON THE BRAND IMAGE OF MTN TELECOMMUNICATIONS LIMITED: THE PERSPECTIVE OF SUBSCRIBERS IN ILORIN METROPOLIS(UNILAG JOURNAL OF BUSINESS, 2018-07-10) Adeoti, Johnson Olabode; Olawale, A. Yinusa; Raji, A. MustaphaThe study seeks to determine the impact of celebrity endorsement on the brand image of Mobile Telecommunication Network (MTN) in Ilorin Metropolis. A sample size of 384 respondents comprising of MTN subscribers across the local government areas in Ilorin metropolis was examined. The sampling technique employed in the study was stratified sampling technique and a liken scale of 5 point. Multiple regressions and multiple correlations were used for data analysis. The results revealed that both celebrity trustworthiness and celebrity expertise were relevant for brand image. The two hypotheses tested showed that all variables were significant. The study therefore recommends that not only celebrities who are trustworthy but also those who have expertise should be used in brand image building. The study also recommends that firms should drop celebrities who have lost their credibility so as not to have a negative effect on the brand image.Item IMPACT OF COMPENSATION STRATEGY ON EMPLOYEES’ PERFORMANCE OF DANGOTE FLOUR MILL, ILORIN, KWARA STATE, NIGERIA(Ilorin Journal of Human Resource Management (IJHRM), 2019-02) Olawale, Yinusa Alabi; Adeoti, Johnson Olabode; ASABI, Mathew OludeleThe study seeks to investigate the impact of compensation strategy on employees’ performance of Dangote Flour Mills, Ilorin, Kwara State. A sample of one hundred and forty-two (142) respondents comprising of Dangote staff was used for the study. The sampling method employed was simple random sampling technique and questionnaire was the research instrument used to obtain relevant information from respondents on the objectives of the study. Data collected were analysed using multiple regression analysis. The result shows that the impact of compensation strategy is a good predictor for effective performance of employees of Dangote Flour Mills, Ilorin, Kwara State. Based on the findings, it was recommended that organisations should adopt and implement appropriate compensation strategy for their employees in order to increase the performance of the employees.Item IMPACT OF ENTREPRENEURIAL EDUCATION ON ENTREPRENEURIAL INNOVATION AMONG STUDENTS OF OSUN STATE POLYTECHNIC, IRE, OSUN STATE(Ilorin Journal of Human Resource Management (IJHRM), 2019) Adeoti, Johnson Olabode; Asabi, Oludele Mathew; Adewuyi, John OlusholaThe objective of this study is to examine the impact of entrepreneurship education on entrepreneurial innovation among students of Osun State Polytechnic, Ire in Osun State, Nigeria. The survey research design was adopted for this study. Both primary and secondary sources of data were used. A stratified random sampling procedure was used to select a sample of three hundred and fifty (350) respondents. Data collected were analyzed using Simple Regression Analysis. The result of the Simple Regression Analysis revealed that F-value is statistically significant at 1 percent. The estimated coefficient of multiple determination (R2) value of 0.745 indicated that 74.5% of variance in entrepreneurial innovation can be explained by entrepreneurship education. This shows that entrepreneurship education is an important factor which positively and significantly influence entrepreneurial innovation. The study concluded that entrepreneurship education improves the students’ entrepreneurial innovativeness, competencies and desirability to start a new or expanding the existing business after graduation. Based on this, the study recommended that there is need to encourage students to embrace entrepreneurship education or training and the evolvement of national culture of entrepreneurship education which would re-orientate students to make them innovative, creative and inventive thereby changing their mindsets from job-seeking mentality to entrepreneurial innovativeness.Item IMPACT OF FINANCIAL REWARD ON EMPLOYEES JOB PERFORMANCE IN NIGERIAN POST-CONSOLIDATED BANKS(Uniosun International Journal of Business Administration (UIJBA), 2017-04-17) Adeoti, Johnson OlabodeHuman resources are the pivot of organization effectiveness and the greatest asset that an organization can possess. The banking reform in Nigeria has definitely posed some challenges to management of the newly consolidated banks and the reward system. This paper assessed the relationship of direct financial rewards and employee performance in Nigeria post-Consolidated banks. The population of study covered 19 banks quoted in the Nigerian stock exchange market out of which four banks were chosen as sample size using convenience sampling techniques. The stud employed the use of correlation analysis as a parametric statistic to validate hypothesis in the study. Finding of the study revealed that r=0.340 or 34.0%, indicating that direct financial rewards contribute 34.0% to employee performance, thus establishing a significant relationship between direct financial reward and employee performance (at 0.05 significant level). The study then concluded that since there exist a weak positive relationship between financial reward and employee performance, other forms of rewards like non-financial reward should be factored into the total reward package of the employees. This will assist the banking industry to be able to attract and retain highly qualified employees in today competitive Nigeria banking environment. The traditional banking era have been replaced with modern methods due to the emergence of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). These developments have also influenced the practices as well as the nature of work in the industry. However as new technologies were developed new methods of defrauding and fraudulent acts were often perpetrated by customers as well as bank staffs. This paper therefore seeks to examine the impact of fraud on organizational profitability. Fraud and fraudulent activities pose a significant problem to the banking industry in Nigeria. Multiple regression analysis was used to examine the impact of the fraud on organizational profitability in Nigeria selected banks. Detailed questionnaire were used to obtain the required information from the respondents. However, due to the stringent measures adopted by the regulatory body to tackle the menace of fraud and fraudulent activities, there was a significant decrease between 2006 and 2011. The paper concluded that fraud and fraudulent activities inflict severe financial difficulties on banks and their customers. They reduce the amount of money available for the development of the organization. Most organizations in the less developed countries are characterized with low productivity rate because of under development in human resources to effectively and efficiently transform the available resources into the required output. The study examined the impact of human resources development on organizational productivity using Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) Plc, Ilorin as a case study. The objectives of the study is to examine the importance of human resources development as a means of increasing organizational productivity, highlighting the needs for human resources training and development and its relevance to the organizations need and the industry at large. Questionnaire was designed to obtain primary data from employees of NBC. Simple percentage and frequency table were used to analyze the rate of responses of the independent variables elicited from the administered questionnaires, while multiple regression analysis (with the aid of SPSS) was used in testing the formulated hypothesis. The result shows that human resources development is indispensable as it prepares workers for increased organizational productivity in any economy, it reduces the cost (wages/salaries) paid to expatriates. It was recommended among other things that for an organization to remain competitive, it must continue to encourage its staff to participate in training and development programs and to allocate a reasonable proportion of its profit to training and development of its employees.Item IMPACT OF REWARD PHILOSOPHY ON CORPORATE ENTREPRENEURSHIP PERFORMANCE FOR SUSTAINABILITY OF THE FOOD AND BEVERAGES INDUSTRY(Journal of Sustainable Development in Africa, 2018) Adeoti, Johnson Olabode; Isiaka, Sulu Babaita`; Lawal, Adedoyin Ishola; Olawale, Yinusa Alabi; Adeyemi, Emmanuel AdewaleThis study examined the impact of reward philosophy on corporate entrepreneurship performance for sustainability of the food and beverage industry. The food and beverage companies selected were those that fall among the top 20 companies with the highest market value quoted in the Nigerian Stock Exchange. Thus, six companies located in the Southwest Nigeria were selected, involving 338 respondents, differed in their hierarchical and functional positions to capture various staff viewpoints across a variety of management and employee grades, as well as across different teams and departments. The study uses four explanatory variables (Salary [Sa], Recognition [Recg], Promotion Opportunity [PrOp] and Allowance [Alw] for the purpose of predicting corporate entrepreneurship performance [CoEp] for sustainability in Food and Beverage Industry. Multiple regression analysis was employed to examine the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable. The findings of the study revealed that the reward philosophy is crucial to corporate entrepreneurship performance which is required for sustainable development of the Nigerian economy with calculated p-value of 0.000 which is less than the tabulated p-value of 0.05 at 95% level of confidence.Item THE NIGERIAN ACCOUNTANT IN A CHANGING ECONOMIC AND POLITICAL ENVIRONMENT(Sahel Analyst, 2005-07-15) Adeoti, Johnson Olabode; Sanni, A.; Oni, E.O.Accountant occupies a very unique position in any organization as, he is always referred to as the life-wire of his establishmen. This effort has not achieved the results due to few people mostly public servants, enjoying the services of the Scheme. Iris considered that the participation of’ Health Maintenance Organisations (HMOs) and accredited health Care facilities Would serve as channels for access to quality healthcare and consumer satisfaction. The objective of this paper is to examine the customers’ perception of these organization and the .cervices they render, This paper employs interview method with consumers of healthcare services in Lagos state. The finding indicates that despite the respondents being satisfied with the services offered. there is ample need for services improvement. The paper concludes that, the health insurance if well managed and its services extends o those not covered by the scheme, this would go a long way in bringing about improve health status of the people.
