Item Challenges facing Students from Francophone Countries in the Nigerian Universities: A Case Study of University of Ilorin(College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Kampala International University, Uganda., 2017-09-01) Saidu, Abubakar; Abudu, Z.A.Nigeria being the giant of Africa has become attractive to many countries in Africa particularly sub-saharan francophone countries. This has led to the immigration of francophone students to Nigeria in search of adequate knowledge and more opportunities in order to be part of the development of globalization. This study therefore examined the challenges faced by Francophone students in Nigerian Universities using descriptive survey method. Purposive sampling technique was used to select all the one hundred (100) francophone students in the university and a research -designed questionnaire, titled "challenges facing Francophone students in the Nigerian Universities" was used to elicit personal information of the respondents. The data collected were analyzed using the mean rating and the t-test. It was revealed that language barrier, poor immersion programme, lack of cultural understanding among others were the challenges facing students from francophone countries in Nigerian Universities. It was however recommended that orientation programme on the country's cultural values and norms should be organised by the school management so has to enlighten students.Item Creation D' un dispositif de formation: Necessite d'un centre de ressources(Department of English and French, Umaru Musa Yar'adua University, katsina, Nigeria., 2013-09-01) Abudu, Z.A.L'essor des technologies de l' information et de la communication a donné, au cours de ces derniéres années un nouvel élan à l'enseignement/apprentissage des langues étrangéres, notamment du français langue étrangére. La mise en place d'un centre de ressource dans des écoles nigérianes tient pignon sur rue surtout ǎ l'heure où l'enseignement des langues étrangéres est en train de répondre aux attentes de la mondialiasation. But, for the past decades, the growing use of computers and internet by the youth and the overview of its quantifying advantages are compelling didactitians to integrate new technologies in the field of education. The study adopted descriptive research method of survey type. Stratified and simple random sampling techniques were used to select 100 undergraduates as respondents from Faculty of Education, University of ilorin. The percentage, means and t - test were used to answer the research questions and test hypotheses respectively. It was revealed that there is no significant difference in the level of utilization of the e-library resources among undergraduates of The Faculty of Education University of Ilorin based on gender. It was also revealed that the level of awareness of the e-library resources among undergraduates of the Faculty of Education, University of Ilorin was average. However, based on the findings of the study, it was recommended that liberians should create more awareness on e -resources. Also, high speed Wi-Fi needs to be established, so that faculty members can use online e- resources and internet within the campus.Item Perception of School Administrators on the Learning of French Language in Primary Schools in Oyo Metropolis.(2017-11-01) Abudu, Z.A.Nigeria is surrounded by African Francophone countries, thus, it is expected that learning and promoting French language should be welcome development by all and sundry in the country.
