Item ACCESS MANAGEMENT AND QUALITY OF DISTANCE EDUCATION IN NIGERIA(Alama Iqbal, Open University, Islamabad, 2020-12-30) Abdullahi, Nimota Jibola KadirAbstract The study investigated the relationship between Canvas learning management system, Google Classroom, Zoom for online teaching and quality of distance education. Purposive sampling technique was used to select 750 lecturers in 75 centres of Open University of Nigeria. Data was collected using Access Management and Quality of Distance Education Questionnaire. Pearson product moment correlation coefficient and linear regression analysis were used to analyse the data collected. The findings revealed that Canvas learning management system, Google Classroom and Zoom for online teaching were positive and significantly correlated with quality of distance education. It was recommended that lecturers should continue making use of canvas learning management system so as to helps students to plan the process of their learning. Also, lecturers should continue to adopt and implement the use of google classroom to facilitate effective teaching and learning in order to provides learning opportunities by encouraging questions, exploration and outliers. Furthermore, lecturers should continue make use of zoom for online teaching so as to helps students to work in groups as well as helps students to collaborate both on the preparation and recording of the presentation through video conferencing in order to achieve quality of distance education in Nigeria.Item CORRUPTION IN EDUCATION SYSTEM AND MANAGEMENT OF PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN NIGERIA(DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT, PLANNING AND POLICY, FACULTY OF EDUCATION UNIVERSITY OF MALAYA, 2018-01) Abdullahi, Nimota Jibola KadirAbstract This study investigated corruption in education system and management of primary schools in Nigeria. The objectives of this study are to examine the relationship between provision of adequate fund, facilities and infrastructures, appointment of educational expert and management of primary schools in north-Central, Nigeria. To achieve this, three hypotheses were formulated and tested. Quantitative research design was used for the study. A self-designed questionnaire titled “Corruption and Management of Primary Education Questionnaire” (CMPEQ) was used to collect information for the study. This study focus on public primary schools in North-Central zone, Nigeria. The population of this study comprised all 12,775 head teachers and 93,301 teachers in public primary schools in North-Central. Sample of 375 head teachers and 384 teachers were proportionally selected in the seven States with the use of Krejcie and Morgan (1970) table of determine sample size of a given population, stratified random sampling technique was used to select primary school head teachers and teachers from the sample schools. This was to ensure that all categories of head teachers and teachers were given equal chance of being selected. The data collected were analyzed using t-test statistical analysis. All hypotheses were tested at the 0.05 level of significance. The result revealed that there was no significant difference between the provision of adequate fund, provision of facilities and infrastructures, appointment of educational expert and management of primary education in Nigeria. It was recommended that government should provide adequate fund to finance education, try and renew all decayed facilities and construct adequate educational infrastructures such as well-ventilated classrooms, furniture, text books among others as well as ensuring that the entire management of education are in the hand of experts and professionals in the field in order to achieve effective management of primary education towards the realization of educational goals and objectives in Nigeria.Item Covid-19 Pandemic Issue and Management of Quality Education in Nigeria(International Journal Pedagogy of Social Studies, 2022-06-30) Abdullahi, Nimota Jibola KadirAbstract. Traditional communication platforms and virtual digital learning could mitigate the closure of schools during COVID-19 and any other pandemics to enhance effective management of quality education. This study observed the relationship between traditional communication, virtual digital learning and management of quality education in public senior secondary schools in Nigeria. Purposive sampling techniques was used to select 140 principals and 280 teachers from 14 States that have commenced the use of traditional communication platforms and virtual digital learning for teaching students during the lockdown period in Nigeria. Data was collected using Covid-19 Pandemic Issue and Management of Quality Education Questionnaire (CPIMQEQ). The data was analysed using descriptive statistics and t-test statistical analysis. The results revealed that there was significant relationship between traditional communication platforms, virtual digital learning and management of quality education. It was recommended that government should make adequate provision for the use of traditional communication platforms as part of methods of teaching students rather than concentrate on only face-to-face traditional method of teaching to prevent total lockdown of education institution during pandemic so as to improve access to education. Also, government should make provision for necessary tools needed for effective use of virtual digital learning in teaching students and this will in turn help to address problem of school closure during pandemic as well as provision of training and retraining of teacher on digital skill in order to increase the students’ engagement and encouraged interaction towards achieving quality education.Item Curriculum Management Strategies and Effective Implementation of Universal Basic Education in Nigeria(Publication of Department of Elementary School Teacher Training of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, Indonesia, 2022-07-31) Abdullahi, Nimota Jibola KadirThe main goal of this research was to investigate how curriculum management strategies affected the successful implementation of Universal Basic Education (UBE). A total of 712 participants were chosen using proportional random sampling from the sampled primary and junior secondary schools in North-west, Nigeria. Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient and linear regression analysis were used to test the hypotheses. The findings of the study demonstrated that students’ mastery goals, effective classroom instruction, and evaluation all helped to improve the effectiveness of UBE implementation. Thus, it was recommended that school managers should encourage students' mastery goals so as to help learners to be better engaged in the learning process. Likewise, school managers should strive to create effective classroom instruction to help in engaging learners with concepts and processes of learning. Furthermore, evaluation of curriculum and learners’ activities should be done frequently in order to determine learners’ competence before, during, and after instruction toward effective implementation of the curriculum. The results showed that the curriculum management strategies had a significant impact on the effective implementation of UBE.Item ECONOMIC RECESSION AS A CORRELATE OF TEACHER PRODUCTIVITY IN KWARA STATE SECONDARY SCHOOLS, NIGERIA(Kashere Journal of Education (KJE), 2021-06-21) Tijani, A. A; Abdullahi, Nimota Jibola KadirAbstract The study examined the relationship between current economic recession in Nigeria and teacher productivity in Kwara State. Descriptive research design of correlation type was adopted for the study. The target population comprised all teachers in the 304 public secondary schools in the state. 20 secondary schools were selected using stratified random sampling technique. 400 respondents were chosen through simple random sampling method. The instrument tagged “Economic Recession and Teacher Productivity Questionnaire” (ERTPQ) was designed to elicit information from the respondents. The two research questions raised were answered using descriptive statistics. The three generated hypotheses were tested using inferential statistics. The finding of the study revealed that current economic recession has brought about a low level of teacher job performance in recent times. Also, there were a positive and high significant relationship between Economic Recession, Inflation, Cost of living and teacher productivity. Hence, economic recession was a great determinants of teacher productivity in Kwara State Secondary Schools, Nigeria. The study thus recommends that government should put necessary monetary and fiscal policies in place to reduce the cost of livings. Also, there is urgent need for the upward review of minimum wages from the present meagre amount of N18, 000 per month.Item EDUCATION QUALITY MANAGEMENT AND TEACHER EFFECTIVENESS IN NIGERIA(International Islamic University College, Selangor, 2019-06) Abdullahi, Nimota Jibola KadirThis study investigated education quality management and teacher effectiveness in Nigeria. The aims of this study are to examine the relationship between good administration, discipline, optimal curriculum implementation and teacher effectiveness in public primary schools in Nigeria. Three hypotheses were formulated. Quantitative research design was used for the study. A self-constructed questionnaire titled “Education Quality Management and Teacher Effectiveness Questionnaire” (EQMTEQ) was used to collect information for the study. The population of this study comprised all 14,216 teachers in public primary schools in Kwara State, Nigeria. Sample of 376 were selected with the use of Research Advisor (2006) table of determined sample size of a known population, stratified random sampling technique was used to select teachers from the sample schools. The data collected were analyzed using Pearson product moment correlation statistical analysis. All hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The results shows that there was a positive and significant relationship between good administration, discipline, optimal curriculum implementation and teacher effectiveness in public primary schools in Nigeria. It was recommended that head teachers should continue to provide effective administrative functions, head teachers should serve as a role model in carried out their duties in order enhance teacher effectiveness in public primary schools in Nigeria.Item EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP ANDINSTRUCTIONAL BEST PRACTICES IN NORTH-CENTRAL, NIGERIA(Ekiti State Uiversity, 2021-10-12) Abdullahi, Nimota Jibola KadirAbstract This study examined educational leadership and instructional best practices in North-central, Nigeria. The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship between educational leadership and instructional best practices. To achieve this, two hypotheses were formulated and tested. Descriptive research design was used for the study. Sample of 375 head teachers and 384 teachers were proportionally selected in the seven states that make up north-central with the use of Research Advisor (2006), table of determining sample size of known population. Stratified random sampling technique was used to select head teachers and teachers of the sampled public primary schools so as to ensure that every member of the population has equal opportunity and right of being selected. T-test statistical analysis was used to analyse the collected data. The findings of the study showed that there was no significant difference between provision of instructional resource, staff development and instructional best practices in Nigeria. It was, therefore, recommended that head teacher and teachers should continue to provide and use appropriate instructional resources for effective instructional best practices as to ensure efficient staff development in order to increase productivity of staff.Item EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP BEHAVIOUR AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT IN KWARA STATE, NIGERIA(Malaya University, 2020-07-13) Abdullahi, Nimota Jibola KadirAbstract This study investigated educational leadership behaviour and community engagement in Kwara State, Nigeria. The objectives of this study are to examine the relationship that exist between educational leadership behaviour and community engagement. Quantitative research design was adopted for the study. Sample of 364 teachers were randomly selected from the sample public senior secondary schools with the use of Research Advisor (2006), table of determining sample size of known population. The data were collected using the combination of two questionnaires namely educational leadership behaviour questionnaire (ELBQ) and community engagement Questionnaire. Pearson correlation and linear regression analysis were used to analyze the collected data. The findings revealed that interpersonal relationship, effective communication and participatory decision-making significantly and positively correlated with community engagement. Researcher recommended that principals should continue to demonstrate effective interpersonal relationship with school community in order to ensure the effective and efficient running of the school. Also, principals should make use of effective communication to encourage community involvement in education matters so as to influence community actions and bring about changes in school. Furthermore, principals should effectively involve community in decision affecting the school in order to encourage and inspire people to take required action for the progress of the school.Item Educational planning and administration in an era of dwindling economic: Implication for intervention(University of Benin, 2017-05) Abdullahi, Nimota Jibola Kadirthis study investigated administration and planning of primary education in an era of dwindling economic in Nigeria. Quantitative research design was used for the study. A self-designed questionnaire titled Administration and Planning of Primary Education and Dwindling Economic Questionnaire (APPEDEQ) was used to collect information for the study. The data collected were analyzed using PPMC. the results revealed that there was a significant relationship between budgetary allocation, planing, coordination and dwindling economic in North-West zone, Nigeria. The strategic planning is the application of rationale, systematic analysis to the process of educational development with the aim of making education more effective and efficient in responding to the needs and goals. The study explained some problems of educational strategic planning that militates its effectiveness such as in accurate data, inadequate skilled personnel, technological problem, political arrangement economic circumstances and inadequate planning, it was however, related to the term sustainable development and indicated the role and relationship of strategic planning to sustainable development in future plan. The data collected were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation statistic. All hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The results revealed that there was a significant relationship between regular payment of teacher salaries, provision of learning and teaching facilities, training of teachers and management of universal basic education in Nigeria. It was recommended that government should work hard to improve working condition of teachers by prompt and regular payment of their salaries, government should continue to provide adequate learning and teaching facilities and also government should provide appropriate and adequate training of teachers to support them in building confidence as well as enhance their professional growth towards effective management of universal basic education in Nigeria.Item ETHICAL LEADERSHIP AND STAFF INNOVATIVE BEHAVIOUR IN NIGERIA(University of Karachi, 2020-06-01) Abdullahi, Nimota Jibola KadirAbstract This study investigated ethical leadership and staff innovative behaviour in Nigeria. The aims of this study are to find out the relationships that exist among ethical leadership and staff innovative behaviour. This study also seeks to find the level of practice for the parts in ethical leadership and staff innovative. Quantitative research design was adopted in the study. Sample of 350 participants were randomly selected from the sample university in line with Research Advisor (2006), table of determining sample size of known population. Pearson correlations and linear regression analysis were used to analyze the collected data. The findings show that leadership integrity, power sharing and fairness positively and significantly correlated with staff innovative behaviour. The result also shows that staff innovative behaviour can be influenced by ethics behaviour of academic leaders. In order to improve staff innovative behaviour and development of universities, academic leaders must demonstrate high standards of professional conduct, encourage an open and transparent culture, develop framework that will encourage staff to work together irrespective of their race, gender, religion or age, as well as demonstrate effective fairness in terms of unbiased evaluation of staff performance. If all these are put in place, staff innovative behaviour (self-efficacy, knowledge sharing, and idea generation) will be achieved.Item Good Governance Issues in Education System and Management of Secondary Schools in Kwara State, Nigeria(university of Arizona, North America, 2019-12-14) Abdullahi, Nimota Jibola KadirThis study investigated good governance issues in education system and management of secondary schools in Nigeria. The objectives of this study are to examine the relationship between resources management, accountability, participatory decision-making, and management of secondary schools in Nigeria. Three hypotheses were formulated and tested. Quantitative research design was used for the study. A self-constructed questionnaire titled “Good Governance and Management of Secondary Education Questionnaire” (GGMSEQ) was used to collect information for the study. The population of this study comprised all 310 principals and 6,894 teachers in public senior secondary schools in Kwara State, Nigeria. The sample of 175 principals and 364 teachers, totaling 539 participants, was selected with the use of Research Advisor’s (2006) table of determining sample size of a known population, stratified random sampling technique was used to select principals and teachers from the sample schools. Thus, ensuring that all categories of principals and teachers were given an equal chance of being selected. The data collected were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation statistical analysis. All hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The result revealed that there was a positive and significant relationship between resources management, accountability, participatory decision-making, and management of secondary schools in Nigeria. To achieve this, two hypotheses were formulated and tested. Descriptive design was used for the study. Self-constructed questionnaire titled Head Teachers’ Supervision Questionnaire (HTSQ) and Teachers’ Job Performance Questionnaire (TJPQ) was used for data collection. Pearson product moment correlation statistics was used to test the two hypotheses. All the hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The finding of this study revealed that there was significant relationship between head teachers’ professional competency, classroom observation and teachers’ job performance. It was recommended that head teacher should continue to maintain and provide appropriate classroom observation by helping teachers to develop new techniques of instruction. Head teacher should continue to sustain utilization of professional competency by conducting in service training for better improvement teachers’ job performance in order to achieve educational goals.Item Human Resource Development and Management of Tertiary Education for global Competitiveness in Nigeria(Pakistan women university, 2020-06-01) Abdullahi, Nimota Jibola KadirAbstract This study investigated the extent to which boosting of staff morale, staff empowerment and team building served as a strategy for ensuring effective management of tertiary education for global competitiveness in Nigeria. Quantitative research design was used for the study. Seven public tertiary education institutions in Kwara State were purposely selected for the study. The view of 330 lecturers and 21 school managers were sampled through stratified and simple random sampling techniques. The population of this study comprised of 3,600 academic staff in public tertiary education institutions in Kwara State. Sample of 330 lecturers and 21 school mangers were selected with the use of Research Advisor (2006) table to determine the sample size of a known population. A self-designed questionnaire titled “Human Resource Development for Global Competitiveness Questionnaire” (HRDGCQ) was used to collect information for the study. The data collected were analyzed using t-test statistical analysis. All hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The result revealed that there was no significant difference between the boosting of staff morale, staff empowerment, teem building and management of tertiary education for global competitiveness. It was recommended that effort should be made by government to continue boosting staff moral by providing conducive environment, proper support of staff, as well as participation of staff in organizational decision making. Staff empowerment should also be part of government priorities in the management of tertiary education. This study examined the relationship between projected media, non-projected visual, simulation and games and management of elementary education in public primary schools in Kwara State, Nigeria. Stratified random sampling technique was used to select 306 head teachers from a population of 1, 406 and 384 teachers from a population of 14,206 in public primary schools in Kwara State with the use of Research Advisor (2006) table of determining sample size of a known population. Data was collected using Instructional Media and Management of Elementary Education Questionnaire (IMMEEQ). The data was analysed using descriptive statistics and t-test statistical analysis. The results showed that there were significant and positive relationship between projected media, non-projected visual, simulation and games and management of elementary education. Based on the findings it was therefore recommended that government and head teachers should provide appropriate projected media for teachers to disseminate information to learners in the classroom. Also, head teachers should continue to encourage teachers to make use of non-projected visual to arouse the interest and gain the attentions of the learners in order to aid the teachers explanations and make learning of subject matter understandable to learners during teaching and learning process.
