dc.description.abstractThe study investigated the perception of students on e-learning and conventional modes of learning during and after the COVID-19 pandemic period. A descriptive survey design was adopted using a structured and validated instrument to collect data. The population of study comprised of mainly Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences (FCIS) students selected from five departments using Stratified random sampling. A total of 231 respondents served as the sample size of the study. Findings revealed a positive perception of the two learning modes (e-learning and conventional learning) among students in terms of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and perceived cost. It also revealed perceived effectiveness of the two learning modes (e-learning and conventional learning) however, there was a slim difference in their level of effectiveness. The major challenges identified by students in the use of e-learning platforms are: poor connectivity and network issues, while for conventional mode of learning are: lack of conducive classroom environment and inadequate space to accommodate large number of students among others. It was concluded that students utilize e-learning and conventional learning effectively, however there are imminent challenges faced by students in the use of the two learning modes. Therefore, Management of Institutions of learning should ensure that the two learning modes are optimally utilized by students, and also an urgent need to address the challenges posed by the two learning modes.en_US
