dc.description.abstractThe problem of persistent poor performance in English Language, in spite of the concerted efforts being made by stakeholders to improve on it, has elicited this paper. The paper, therefore, examines the issues involved in the teaching of English Language at the secondary school level in the country, points out the provisions made in the curriculum on the subject to improve on its teaching and raises issues that have to be carefully handled to promote a successful implementation of the curriculum in order to facilitate improved students performance in the all-important subjecten_US
