dc.description.abstractThe dynamics response of a plate on winkler foundation subjected to a moving distributed line load is presented. The assumption of variable separation mode shapes method transforms the partial differential equation governing the motion of the plate, which in general is a function of x,y and t, into a function of one independent variable, The resulting equation is analyzed by a finite difference method. The results for simply supported boundary conditions are used as illustrative example. It is found that distributed moving mass problem produces the upper bound deflection, when compared with a concentrated moving mass problem.en_US
