Abstract
This paper assessed the teaching process in Az-Zumratul Adabiyyah, School of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Ilorin. The study adopted descriptive survey research type with a questionnaire titled: “Teachers’ Questionnaire on the Use of Instructional Resources and Methods of Teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies” used for data collection. All the teachers teaching in the school constitute the total population for the study while all 20 teachers teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies were sampled in the study, but 18 of them who returned their questionnaires were used. Test re-test method was conducted and gave 0.76 co-efficient to achieve reliability. Three research questions guided the study. The Percentage and Frequency Count were used to analyse the data collected. The findings of the study revealed among others that, most of the respondents were not used to using varieties of instructional resources. It was therefore recommended among others that, the teachers of the school should go for in-service teachers training course to improve on their use teaching skills.
