Abstract

Abstract The study was conducted to examine how the nature of disability and marital status of disabled learners affect their self-concept. A total of one hundred and nine disabled adults were involved in the study. The result showed that though the disabled learners demonstrated a high level of self-concept, their self-concept appeared to be influenced by some factors such as their nature of disability as well as their marital status. The study therefore concluded that in order to impact the desired skills to all categories of disabled learners that attend classes at the centers, there is need to group them based on the nature of their disability. Also, the married ones among them should be separated from those that are single. These if done will go a long way in improving the level of what is acquired from the instructors by the disabled learners at the centers.
