Abstract

The natural sources of portable water are becoming less available thus constituting a major social and economic concern. In this study, two well locations were selected from four local government area of Kwara state to access their physicochemical properties and quality as per metal ion and non metal ion concentrations. The detailed analysis of physicochemical parameters such as colour, temperature, acidity, alkalinity, hardness, conductivity, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), metal ion contents, sulphate and chloride ions content were done using standard methods . All these parameters provide information about quality of the well water from the four local governments for drinking, industrial and analytical purposes.
