Abstract

It is recognized and considered that whatever the special consideration given to the handicapped persons in terms of their education, it is still discrimination and outside context. Whether the blind persons are considered the school for the blind, the deaf people are treated specially to have school for the deaf etc. these efforts are discriminatory and not enough to assuage the plights of handicapped. The handicapped have no other places or worlds of their own, it is in the same society they are destined to live, breathe the same air, experience and share the same natural characteristics of the environment with their non-handicapped counterparts. It is good to also state the government’s ministries and parastatals; private and corporate education that sees the handicapped and able-bodied persons learning to live and relate together from the same regular classroom and school system will potentially establish good human relation that continues even after school. All these are given consideration in the paper, using historical research method.
