Item Assessing The Impact of Social Investment N-Power Programme on Livelihood Improvement Among Residents in Ilorin Metropolis, Kwara State, Nigeria(FACULTY OF HUMANITIES SULE LAMIDO UNIVERSITY KAFIN HAUSA, JIGAWA STATE, 2025-07) Abdulsalam Oladimeji Sholagberu; Yakubu Toyin IbrahimThe study was carried out to access the impact of social investment N-power programme on livelihood improvement among residents in Ilorin Metropolis, Kwara State, Nigeria The study's population comprised a total of 1,035 beneficiaries of N-power programme from three local government areas within Ilorin Metropolis. A sample of 90 beneficiaries were selected using a proportionate random sampling technique in the ratio 1:2:3. Three specific objectives guided the study, three research questions were raised and answered and one null hypothesis formulated. A well-structured questionnaire titled “Impact of Social Investment N-Power Programme on People Livelihood Improvement (ISINPPPLI)” dully validated by three experts with the reliability index of 0.76 was used to collect relevant data from the sampled respondents and the data collected were analyzed with the used of both descriptive and inferential statistics; descriptive mean scores, standard deviation and inferential statistics of chi-square. Findings from the study revealed that N-power programme of social investment has significant impacts on the beneficiaries’ livelihood status with average mean responses high above the criterion mean (2.86) also, the training received through social investment N-power programme has significant impact on socio-economic development of individual within Ilorin Metropolis. There is statistically significant differences on the basis of gender and the level of livelihood improvement of beneficiaries from social investment N-power programme. The study recommends among that, the economic policies of governments should be geared towards the creation of jobs through various empowerment programme. Also, there is the need for proper monitoring and evaluation of fund meant for the programme for sustenance and to meet target objectives.Item Ensuring effective management of Literacy education on Marginalized Group in Rural Communities of Kwara State, Nigeria(Faculty of Education University of Ilesa, Osun State,Nigeria, 2024) Abdulsalam, Oladimeji Sholagberu; Olasinde, Balikis Ajoke; Kayode, Sadiq Toyin; Yakubu Toyin IbrahimManagement ensure a well-coordinated efforts aimed at ensuring effectiveness of the literacy education to serve the marginalized groups. thus, this paper focus attention on the strategies in ensuring effective management of literacy education on marginalized groups in rural communities of kwara State, Nigeria. It looks into the concept of accepted that effective management of literacy education could enhance individual marginalized group abilities to cope with the evolving Challenges they experience and and enhance their chances in the society where they belongs. Hence, education has to be redefined in the context of marginalized individual to make it responsive to their yearning for a better living conditions. The paper takes a review of marginalized groups features and status, certain strategies to address literacy education among the marginalized groups, were discussed. against this premise, conclusions were drawn and some recommendations were made to include the need for the expand learning programmes to nooks and corners of the federation and the learning centres must be placed close to learners residence so as to encourage regular participation by all. also, Government at all levels in Nigeria should develop and implement interventions such as subsidies for direct educational costs and greater cultural sensitization to the educationally marginalized groups. Thus, the paper focused on the impact of adult education on social inclusion and empowerment of women in selected rural communities in Kwara State. The objectives of the paper among others was to determine the available social inclusion programme that facilitates women empowerment programme in rural communities and ascertain the level of effectiveness of the social inclusion on women empowerment programme in rural communities in Kwara State, Nigeria. Findings from the analysed datą revealed that adult education has significant impact on social inclusion and women empowerment programs in rural communities in Kwara State. Thus, recommendations provided includes; improve the reach and effectiveness of existing social inclusion and women empowerment programs by increasing resources and refining strategies based on regular evaluations and implementation of targeted interventions to overcome challenges such as limited access, socio-cultural barriers, and financial constraints.Item Impact of Vigilante Service Group on Crime Control for Sustainable Development in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State, Nigeria(Federal Universitr Gusuau, Zamfara State, 2025-12) Abdulsalam, Oladimeji Sholagberu; Kayode, Sadiq Toyin; Yakubu Toyin IbrahimThis study assesses the impact of vigilante service group on crime control for sustainable development in Ilorin West Local Government, Kwara State. The Population of the study comprised of all community members and vigilante in Ilorin West Local Government. The sample for this study comprised of 120 respondents selected through a dip-hat sampling technique. Descriptive survey design was employed in the study and a questionnaire titled "Impact of Vigilante Service Group on Crime Control for Sustainable Development Questionnaire (IVESGCCSDQ)" with a reliability of 1.9. Four research questions were raised and answered using mean and standard deviation. The results shows that crime constitutes to social problem in the aspect that crime has led to disruption of business activities and crime has led some to marriage divorce in Ilorin West local government area. The following recommendations were suggested: that government should encourage the vigilante group service by allocating adequate fund to execute their duties couple with the provision of ammunitions to protect the populace of a community. The community members should not obstruct the vigilante group during the course of executing their duties in the community like controlling crime.Item The Role of Adult Education in Poverty Alleviation Strategies in Ilorin West Local Government, Kwara State, Nigeria(Published by Faculty of Education and Extension Services, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria., 2021) Kayode, Sadiq Toyin; Sholagberu, A. O.; Yakubu Toyin IbrahimThis study explores the role of adult education in poverty alleviation strategies, using Ilorin West Local Government Area, Kwara State, as a case study. It posits that adult education is a crucial tool for empowering individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to improve their socioeconomic status. A descriptive research design was adopted. The study population comprised all 2,500 adult education learners in Ilorin West Local Government Area. A sample of 100 adult learners and 20 facilitators was selected. Two research questions and two hypotheses guided the study. Findings highlight a positive correlation between participation in adult education programs and improved economic outcomes, including increased employment opportunities, higher income levels, and an enhanced quality of life. Data were analyzed using percentages. The study concludes that adult education is a vital component of comprehensive poverty alleviation strategies and recommends policy interventions to support and expand these programs. The implications of this research underscore the need for sustained investment in adult education to foster sustainable development and economic growth in Kwara State and similar contexts.
