Item Cohabitive marriage among university undergraduates in Kwara State, Nigeria: Students’ perceived causes and consequences.(Published by Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education, Faculty of Education, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria., 2020-03) Badamas, O. P.The environment of tertiary institutions allows for free interaction between male and female students throughout the days and nights which may have led them to be cohabiting. This study therefore examines the perceived causes and consequences of cohabitation among university undergraduates in Kwara State, Nigeria. The research design used for the study is the descriptive survey type. 220 students were accidentally selected from three universities in Kwara State. Researcher designed questionnaire was used for data collection. The reliability coefficient of the questionnaire is 0.71. Research questions were answered using mean rating while Research hypotheses were tested using t-test and ANOVA at 0.05 level of significance. Findings revealed the cause of 'lack of accommodation in the school hostel' with a mean of 3.65 was ranked first as the major cause of cohabitation and the consequences of 'high risk of abortion' with a mean of 3.50 was ranked first indicating the most perceived consequences of cohabitation among university undergraduates in Kwara State. Another finding shows that the there is significant difference in the view of male and female students on the causes of cohabitive marriage which t value yielded 4.513 with P value .000 < 0.05. This shows a significant result. It was therefore recommended that, the school administrators in collaboration with private investors should make adequate provision for both male and female hostels. This manuscript reviewed characteristic problems associated with educational leadership in African and the role of government, teachers and relevant stakeholders in the present-day anomaly. This research work enumerated peculiarities of structures and standards in two countries. A critical examination of educational leadership policies and structures obtainable in Australia and Japan as case studies. Notable similarities and differences in culture, values and traditions of the examined countries were basic, unique and also catered for the need of these societies. O.; Olokooba, Issa NasiruThis study investigated the relationship between peer group influence and moral activities among in-school adolescents in Ilorin South Local Government Area, Kwara State, Nigeria. The objectives of the study were to investigate level of in-school adolescent, types of moral actions displayed and relationship between peer group influence and moral activities among in-school adolescents in the state. The study adopted descriptive design. The sample for the study was one hundred and fifty (150) students in selected schools using simple random sampling technique. Two questionnaires were validated by experts. The reliability of the instruments was obtained through the test-retest method. The data collected were analyzed using PPMC and a reliability index of 0.73 was obtained. The data collected were analyzed using percentages to answer two research questions while null hypothesis was tested using Chi-square at 0.05 level of significance. The finding of the study revealed that the level of in-school adolescent on peer group influence is high. It was revealed from the finding of the study that the main types of moral actions displayed by in-school adolescent was social contract orientation. The study’s finding showed that there was no significant relationship between peer group influence and moral activities among in-school adolescents.
