Item Assessment of Instructional Competency and Resources for Adult Literacy learners in Kwara State: Perspectives of Learners and Instructors.(African Journal of Education Studies (AJOESI). The Faculty of Education University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria., 2016-07-01) Ambali, T.T.; Abdullahi, A.K.; Mohammed, R.M.O.This study examined instructional competency and resources for adult literacy learners from the perspective of learners and Instructors in Kwara State. The paper has a research question and one (1) hypothesis to guide the study. Multi-stage sampling procedure was adopted; at the first stage cluster sampling technique was used to select sixteen (16) adult literacy centers’ in each of the Local Government Areas in Kwara State. At the second stage, simple random sampling technique was adopted to draw eighty (80) adult literacy instructors and eighty (80) learners. A structured interview and questionnaire were used as the instruments for data collection. And also, teaching assessment format was designed by the researchers, to assess instructors’ instructional competency. The data collected were subjected to appropriate statistical analysis; mean rating and t-test were used. Hypothesis formulated for the study was tested at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of the study revealed that the perspective level of instructors and learners is high and insignificant difference exited in the perspective level of instructors and learners on instructional competency and resources in adult teaching and learning. Based on the findings, recommendations were proffered for the instructors and Agency for Mass Literacy amongst which was that government should make provision for more instructional materials, employ more personnel and allowance of instructors should be paid as at when due.Item Assessment of the facilitators’ perception on the Challenges and Prospects of Lifelong Education in the 21st Century in Kwara State, Nigeria.(Nigerian National Council for Adult Education., 2021-09-03) Ambali T. K.This paper looks in to the problems and prospects of lifelong education as perceived by the facilitators in the 21"centuiy, considering the fact that the economy is depressed and there are too many challenges on the workforce which intensely amplifies the needs and demands for learners to improve on their proficiencies, acquire skills and knowledge align to the new emerge economic situation to avoid being laid off. This study realized that, in solving many prevailing problems in the country life education seems to be the tool to address these challenges due to the fact that, it embodies knowledge and learning that emphasized relevance, responsiveness, respect, dignity and integrity in all, irrespective of age, gender, creed, equality, socio-economic and political justice. Descriptive survey was adopted for the study and multi stage sampling technique was used in the process. The study was narrowed down to Kwara Central Senatorial District, with its four Local Government Areas. The population of the study were all the public senior secondary school Head teachers and head of other Educational departments. However; the total respondents sampled were two hundred questionnaire was the measure used to collect data for the study. Among the findings of the study was lack of great public awareness on lifelong education, lack of adequate fund for the smooth sailing of the programme. Therefore, the study recommended that adequate and continuous awareness be made available to the general public and adequate fund should be provided to run the programme effectively. O.,; Abdullahi, A.K.; Sholagberu, A.O.; Mohammed, R.M.O.This study examined the impact of entrepreneurship education on job creation and employability of undergraduate students of higher institutions of learning in Kwara State, Nigeria. Four objectives were raised and translated to research questions to guide the study. A descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study and 9,283 was considered as the target populations comprising male and female students. A sample size of 361 respondents was selected. Multi-stage sampling procedure was adopted to select respondents that will be participate in the study. At the first stage, a cluster sampling technique would be used to sample higher institutions offering Entrepreneurship as a compulsory general course within Kwara State. At the second stage, stratified sampling would be adopted, because the population was group or divided into higher institution of learning: University of Ilorin and Kwara State University. A self-developed questionnaire was used as the research instrument for data collection. The reliability test of the questionnaire was done using test retest technique and a co-efficient 0.87 was obtained. The administration of the instrument was done by the researcher and three field research assistants. The administration of the instrument was carried out by the researchers and three volunteer field research assistants. The data collected was analyzed using mean rating and standard deviation. One of the findings revealed that the provision training that enables students acquire specialized skills, to acquire skills for self-reliance and for manpower training are the factors responsible for implementation of entrepreneurship education and job creation. It is therefore, recommended that entrepreneurship education providers should encourage more participation in vocational training that enables students acquire specialized skills for self-reliance and manpower training.Item Women Education: A Panacea for Sustainable Development.(Journal of Nigerian National Council for Adult Education., 2016-08-12) Mohammed, R.M.O.; Sholagberu, A.O.,Women play a significant role in nation building. Their education is seen as a vehicle for sustainable development in Nigeria. The paper x-rays the concept of women education, sustainable development and the factors militating against women education. It also highlights the need for women education and the challenges faced to achieve sustainable development. The paper suggests that since the roles played by women in sustainable development are of great importance, they should be availed with good educational opportunities to enhance their social, political, and economic participation towards enhanced sustainable development.
