Item EFFECT OF HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT PRACTICES ON EMPLOYEES' COMMITMENT IN ENSURING SUSTAINABLE PERFORMANCE IN THE NIGERIAN SECURITY AND CIVIL DEFENCE CORPS, ILORIN.(Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Clarion, Pennsylvania, 2019) Dunmade, E. J.The study investigates the influence of human resource management practices on employees’ commitment in ensuring sustainable performance among the staff of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command Headquarters, Ilorin. The population of the study comprised employees of NSCDC consisting six departments. A self-administered questionnaire was used for the study. The results of the tested hypotheses showed that training and development have significant effect on employee commitment (β =.713, t=15.544; p<.05), and that performance appraisal has significant effect on employee commitment (β =.136, t=2.949; p<.05). It was also shown that compensation management has a significant effect on employee commitment (β =-.134, t=3.063; p<.05). This implies that changes towards better direction in HRM practices results positively in employee’s commitment, and vice versa. It is therefore concluded that compensation management, training & career development and performance appraisal have significant effect on employees’ commitment among the staff of NSCDC, Ilorin.Item EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION: A STRATEGIC TOOL FOR PROMPT ACHIEVEMENT OF THE ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS(Faculty of Social Sciences, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, 2020) Dunmade, E. O.; Olusesi, D.For workforces being the organization’s most essential and treasured resources to function to the fullest so as to achieve on time the set goals of any organization, the management of such workplace is expected to give its maximum support for easy work performance through effective communication. The study therefore seeks to examine the influence of effective communication on the achievement of organizational goals with a concentration on Chi – Farms limited, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. This was with the sample size of Four Hundred and Thirty Eight (438) respondents. Simple random sampling technique was adopted for the study with the employment of structured questionnaire to draw the required information from the respondents. This is due to the method’s ease of use and ability to accurately represent a large population. The descriptive statistics employed included simple percentages and tables, while inferential statistics used was regression. The findings of the study established that effective communication has positive and significant effect on the achievement of organizational goals ((R2=.0.975, F= 18.574 p<0.05)). The study therefore recommends inclusion of all and sundry, not only in the decisions bothering on the achievement of the organization’s set goals, but also on matters that can enhance workers’ performances as this should be through the design and implementation of simple organizational structure for quick and hitch free flow of communication since this will help in lessening misunderstanding, improves information management and cordial relationship between both the management of the organization and the workforces in Chi – Farms, Ibadan.Item Effective Succession Planning and Employees’ Retention in Multi-Trex Integrated Food Plc, Lagos(Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, Fountain University, Osogbo, Osun State, 2022-09) Dunmade, E. O.Organizations throughout the world are expecting a talent shortage in this competitive era, thus placing pressure on human resource managers to strategically implement an effective succession planning that is capable of attracting, fostering, and guaranteeing the retention of the greatest talents in the workplace. This study examines the impact of effective succession planning on the retention of employees in Multi-Trex Integrated food plc, Lagos. This was with the use of structured questionnaire. The employed descriptive statistics included simple percentages and tables, while inferential statistics adopted regression analysis. The findings of the study showed a significant impact of (i) mentorship on the employee’s retention: and (ii) coaching on the employee’s retention in the organization. The study concluded that there was significant impact of effective succession planning on employees’ retention in Multi-Trex Integrated Food Plc, Lagos. The study recommended the creation of regulations that allow employees to be easily identified and selected while streamlining succession planning to the corporate goals and objectives.Item Office Automation and Its Impacts On Service Delivery in the Kogi State Civil Service(Bahria University Journal of Management & Technology, 2022-07) Dunmade, E. A.Today’s society relies on information, thus investment on networks of computer-based workstations and other automated machinery goes a long way in changing conventional manual office processes and paper communications media at work. Thus, the study assessed the impact of office automation on the quality service delivery in Kogi-State Civil Service with a focus on Yagba-West Local Government Area (LGA) of the state in Nigeria. The sample size of the study was 150 with the adoption of a structured questionnaire as the instrument of data collection, while random sampling was employed for the study. The used descriptive statistics comprised simple percentages and tables, while the utilized inferential statistics was least square regression. The findings of the study established a significant and positive impact of: (i) modern database management system on employees’ efficiency; (ii) task management on the employees’ effectiveness; and (iii) global data exchange on the quality service delivery of employees of Yagba-West LGA. The study made a conclusion that there was significant impact of office automation on the quality service delivery in Kogi State Civil Service. The study, then recommended creation of training and developmental programs for workers through learning of new skills for improved work performance.
