The goals are achieved by team working around set objectives and rules. These goals encompass a bounded common interests, proximity and friendship in the workplace which some organisations failed to recognized. Thus, this study sought to examine the effect of informal group on organisational performance of selected textile manufacturing firms in Lagos state, the specific objectives were to (i) determine the effect of group norms on employees' job satisfaction and (ii) examine the effect of group leadership on organisational effectiveness. The study made use of cross-sectional survey design and a multi- stage sampling technique. Data were obtained through the use of questionnaire distributed to 400 staff from the total population of 4l 15. The hypotheses drawn were tested through the use of regression analysis. Findings from the test revealed a positive and significant effect of group norms on employees’ job Satisfaction. and that group leadership had a positive and significant effect on organisational effectiveness. The study therefore concludes that informal group have positive and significant effect organisational performance. The study recommends that organisational managers should embrace, recognize and appreciate the presence of informal group in their organisation to foster consistent Organisational performance.Item EFFECT OF JOB ENRICHMENT STRATEGIES ON THE PERFORMANCE OF EMPLOYEES IN KAMWIRE HOLDINGS ILORIN, KWARA STATE, NIGERIA(Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria, 2023-12) Amosa, Jimoh Rafiu; Salman, Abdulrasaq; Suleiman, Ahmed Aremu; Abogunrin, Abiodun PeterThe complexities of modern business operations demand a clear departure from the traditional ideological orientation of prioritizing the use of monetary rewards as the most cherished motivational tool to obtain workers concurrence and higher performance but rather a more robust work-related employee performance- oriented strategies one of which is job enrichment. This is important to avert job monotony, boredom and all forms of operationally induced workplace dissatisfaction that is associated with highly bureaucratic and over-controlled authority structure. Therefore, this study sought to examine the effect of job enrichment strategies on employee performance with reference to KAMWIRE holdings llorin. Other specific objectives of the study were to: (i) examine the effect of job enrichment strategies on employee engagement; and (ii) to determine the effect of job enrichment strategies on employee quality of work. The population of the study is 1,621 out of which 318 respondents were given questionnaire through a multi stage selection technique. Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) were adopted for analysis. The results showed that job enrichment strategies have positive and significant effect on employee engagement as well as quality of work in the organisation studied. In conclusion, job enrichment strategies have positive and quality of work. It was significant effect on employee engagement as well as recommended that organizations should improve on the latitude of opera rational freedom of their employees as well as enhance their skill variety through inter and intra departmental postings to eliminate operational and workplace boredom for improved employee and organisational performance.Item EFFECT OF RESISTANCE TO CHANGE MANAGEMENT ON EMPLOYEES PERFORMANCE IN SELECTED TEXTILE MANUFACTURING FIRMS, LAGOS STATE, NIGERIA(Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria, 2021-03) Amosa, Jimoh Rafiu; Omolabi, Issa; Suleiman, Ahmed AremuThe demand of modern business required that organisations provide their employees with information and support that guarantees the acceptance of change initiatives. Therefore, the failure of management to avail employees with the right to participate and to be informed regarding the change in the organisation has been the main cause of resistance and friction between management and employees. Thus, this study sought to examine the influence of managing resistance to change on employee performance of selected textile manufacturing firms in Lagos state, Nigeria. The specific objectives were to ( i) determine the influence of change communication on employee productivity; and (ii) examine the influence of employees' participation on job satisfaction. The study made use of cross-sectional survey design and a multi- stage sampling technique. Data were obtained using questionnaire distributed to 365 staff from the total population of 4, l15. The hypotheses drawn were tested with regression analysis. The findings from the test revealed a significant and positive effect of change communication on employees' productivity (R = 0.748, P-value < 0.05) and that employees participation had a significant and positive effect on Employees' job satisfaction (R² = 0.738, P-value < 0.05). The study therefore, concludes that a well-managed resistance to change positively and significantly affect employees' performance.
