Item Genetic algorithm-based precision tuning of digital P-I-D controller for second-order systems(Faculty of Engineering, University of Ilorin, 2011) Opadiji, Jayeola; Ajiboye, AyeTuning of the PID controller is often done by trial and error which is tedious, time consuming and relatively inefficient. A more reliable and efficient approach of tuning the PID controller is presented using genetic algorithm. The scope of this work is limited to obtaining control parameters of a digital PID controller for a second-order system, given the desired time-response parameters.Item Improving pedagogy in a digital signal processing course using computer-Aided learning systems(Published by IEEE Nigeria, Computer Science Section., 2011) Opadiji, Jayeola; Ajiboye, Aye; Ayeni, Adeseko; Olatunji, SamuelThe development and deployment of a computer-aided learning tool which serves as a learning aid for undergraduate course in digital signal processing is presented. We have carefully outlined the construction of the algorithm and the implementation process of the software with the aim of improving the level of understanding and assimilation of the concepts that make up the course. It also inspires software development at undergraduate level. Although the scope of this project was limited to fundamental principles of Digital Signal Processing, it was found to inspire software development among undergraduate students.Item Undergraduate computer engineering laboratory manual (Vol. 1): electronic circuit theory; analog electronic circuit; software development technique(Department of Computer Engineering, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria, 2016-04) Ajiboye, Aye; Opadiji, Jayeola; Olatunji, SamuelThis instruction manual is the first in the series of the undergraduate Computer Engineering laboratory manuals designed to facilitate a practical-oriented approach to learning by students of Computer Engineering in Nigerian universities. In developing this manual, requirements in the Basic Minimum Academic Standard (BMAS) as defined by both the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) for courses to be audited by Computer Engineering undergraduates were considered. This volume focuses on experiments in Electric Circuit Theories, Analog Electronic Circuits and Software Development Techniques. A total of six laboratory sessions are to be performed by students in each of these areas. At the end of each laboratory session, each student is expected to write a report on the experiments conducted in the workbook provided and submit to laboratory instructors for assessment. It is our desire that the use of this manual in undergraduate Computer Engineering laboratories will achieve our goal of imparting students with the necessary hands-on experience that will make them productive Computer Engineers in the future.Item Undergraduate computer engineering laboratory manual (Vol. 2): measurement & instrumentation; digital electronic circuits; data communication & networks(Department of Computer Engineering, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria, 2017-01) Opadiji, Jayeola; Ajiboye, Aye; Olatunji, Samuel; Ayinla, Lukman; Ajayi, Adebimpe; Yusuf, AbdulrahmanThis instruction manual is the second in the series of the undergraduate Computer Engineering laboratory manuals designed to facilitate a practical-oriented approach to learning by students of Computer Engineering in Nigerian universities.
