Item DYNAMISM OF INSTRUCTIONAL AIDS ON TEACHING PHYSICAL EDUCATION AMONG SECONDARY SCHOOL IN KOGI STATE NIGERIA(2021-04) Ajadi, M.T.,Falaye,E.K. & Adebayo, B.SThis study examined dynamism of instructional aids on teaching of physical education among secondary school in Kogi State, Nigeria. Descriptive research design of survey type was used. The population for the study consist all secondary school students within the study area. Purposive and random sampling techniques were used to select 394 respondents. Researcher-structured questionnaire was used for data collection. The instrument was validated by three lecturers in the department of Human Kinetics Education, University of Ilorin and tested for reliability. A correlation coefficient of 0.85 was obtained. The administration of the instrument was done by researchers. The data collected were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) and percentage count. The results revealed that, there was a significant relationship between behavioral benefits and cognitive benefits of instructional aids on teaching of Physical Education among Secondary Schools. The study concluded that uses of instructional aides are significant to qualify teaching of physical education in schools. The study recommends that effective uses of instructional aids plays a significant role I teaching and learning of physical education in schools which also enhance the behavioral and cognitive benefits of the students.Item FACTORS INFLUENCING MODE OF COURSE SELECTION AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS IN HUMAN KINETICS EDUCATION, UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN(2020-08) Ajadi, M.T.,Falaye,E.K. & Adebayo, B.SThe study examined factors influencing the mode of course selection and academic performance of undergraduate students in Human Kinetics, University of Ilorin. The descriptive research design of the survey method was adopted for the study. The number of inhabitants in the investigation was undergraduates in the University of Ilorin, Ilorin. Simple random stratified and proportionate sampling technique was utilized to select two hundred respondents (200) two postulated null hypothesis were tested using Pearson product-moment correlation (PPMC) at 0.05 alpha level. The findings from the study revealed that; i. There was a significant relationship between borrowed courses from other department and academic performance of students in Human Kinetics Education University of Ilorin with the calculated r-value is -0.143 and degrees of freedom with p-value of -0.143>0.05alpha level. ii. There was a significant relationship between accumulation of faculties or optional courses and academics performance of students in the Human Kinetics Education University of Ilorin with calculated r-value is 0.421 and 198 degrees of freedom with p-value of 0.000> than 0.05 alpha level. It was recommended that borrowed courses and faculty courses should not be too much for the undergraduate students so as to enable them to register for their departmental courses. Some courses should be made elective so that only the students who have interest can register for it. Scheduling of courses by the school administration should meet the needs of the students to promote good performance in their academics.
