Anchored on Diffusion of Innovation theory, an in-depth interview was personally conducted with ten senior staff of Town Planning and Development Authority, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. Findings of the study reveal that most employees are desirous of having their workplace shift from a paper to paperless office due to ease of communication and other derivable advantages. Besides, lack of infrastructure confronts efforts at going paperless in the workplace. The study concludes that much of communication in most offices is greatly carried out through printed paper. The study recommends among other things the need for employers to take a holistic approach in ascertaining and providing basic infrastructure and training of staff to become computer literate so as to ensure an efficient paperless work environment.
