This study was set to examine talent management as a paradigm for sustainable national development. It is observed that managing talent in Nigeria is yet to be a dream come true; hence, daily the nation loses its talents to other nations through brain drain as they go in search of greener pastures. A lot of things have contributed to the ineffectiveness in the management of talents in Nigeria such as lack of vision, tribalism, favoritism, federal character and corruption among the government officials and some universities in the country. The population for this study comprised three selected universities in south west Nigeria. One researcher- designed instrument entitled “Talent management questionnaire” (T M Q) was used to collect relevant data from the sampled institutions. Five research questions were raised to guide the study. The findings revealed that: a significant relationship existed between talent management in Arts and sustainable national development, the level of school curriculum that deals on talent management in universities in Nigeria was on the average/moderate and finally among others, there was no significant relationship between talent discovery in universities in Nigeria and sustainable national development. It was concluded in the study that for national development to be sustained and retained, there is need to map out strategies, channel talents and focus solely on talent management schemes to cure the inefficiency and ineffectiveness in the system and booms the nations’ economy. It was recommended that universities should be equipped with necessary gadgets to help in training and re-training of talents in Nigeria and also to expand the existing universities in a way that they would be able to accommodate and offer admissions to larger number of candidates in their own chosen courses of studyen_US
