dc.description.abstractAbstract The paper discussed how to harness indigenous resources through Assets-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. The approach suggests a paradigm shift from over dependence on government in providing individual felt needs to the community which is seen to have the resources needed for development. On this note, the paper identified strategies for harnessing indigenous resources, challenges in the adoption of ABCD model in the Nigeria Context and policy suggestions. It is, therefore, recommended that community members should actively participate in the affair of the community and also Community Technical Committee (CTC) should be formed within the community with the view of discovering individuals and community potentials.
