Abstract
This study is a content analytical study of oversight functions of the Nigerian Senate. Textual analysis was adopted as method of the study. This covers a three-year period between 2012 and 2014. Anchored on framing theory, the study purposively sampled two Nigerian dailies namely The Nation and Thisday .Findings showed that the newspapers use different patterns in framing news stories but some of the frames are not favourable to the Nigerian Senate. The study concluded that some frames used are skewed to demean the Senate. Based on findings, the study recommended that the Senate should re-examine its conduct and responsibly discharge its oversight function so as to be favourably reported in the newspapers irrespective of types of frames newspapers use..
