dc.description.abstractThe effect of viscous damping on the dynamic behavior of a plate under a moving line load is studied. The problem is formulated within the framework of the classical small deflection theory of thin plates. The solution to the problem are obtained by transforming the partial differential equation for the problem to coupled ordinary differential equations which were analyzed and evaluated for simply supported boundary conditions. It is shown that the deflection profile of the plate depends on the magnitude of the damping coefficient.en_US
