Abstract

This paper investigated teachers’ effectiveness as correlates of students' academic achievement in Ondo State. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. The instrument used to elicit information for the study were Teachers' Rating Scale and Christian Religious Studies Achievement Test. Twelve teachers and two hundred and forty students were selected from four local governments in Ondo State. Findings revealed that teachers' effectiveness was low and there was significant difference on students achievement due to teachers gender. It was suggested that government should organize and provide opportunities for training and retraining seminars, workshops and conferences.
