Abstract
This study was carried out to investigate the secondary school teachers' perception of the effective methods for teaching Islamic Studies in the North Central, Nigeria. Islamic teachers in secondary schools across Kwara, Kogi and Niger states were engaged in the study. It was revealed that discussion methods were said to be effective. It was recommended that non-professional teachers must be allowed to undergo professional training so as to enhance the teaching and doption of effective methods in teaching the subject
