The study is a descriptive survey. The population is all secondary school teachers in Obafemi Owode LGA,which is estimated at 153,305, while 100 respondents were sampled for the study. There was no significant difference in the influence of social media on academic performance based on gender age, educational qualification but significant different was found based on years of teaching experience. It was recommended that students should manage their study time. Counsellors should ensure that students are well guided in order to engage in educative and productive activities through social media.en_US
