| dc.description.abstract | This study examines the contributions of Al-Ilori to the discourse on fundamental human rights through an appraisal of of his work; Huquq al-Insan (rights of human beings) within the Islamic intellectual tradition. It explores how Al-Ilori’s scholarly work articulate a framework of human rights grounded in Qur’anic injunctions and Prophetic traditions, emphasizing dignity, justice, equality, and social responsibility. The paper situates his thought within both classical Islamic jurisprudence and contemporary human rights debates, highlighting areas of convergence and divergence with modern international human rights norms. Through a critical analysis, the study demonstrates that Al-Ilori’s perspective on Huquq al-Insan offers a morally anchored and community-oriented approach to rights, balancing individual freedoms with collective obligations. The appraisal further evaluates the relevance of his ideas in addressing present-day challenges such as social injustice, governance, and religious pluralism. Ultimately, the paper argues that Al-Ilori’s scholarship provides a valuable indigenous framework for understanding and advancing fundamental human rights in Muslim societies and beyond. | |
