dc.description.abstractThe study of construction project success is gaining increasing attention as the industry faced problems of time and cost overruns. This paper presents the results of a research project which aims at determining the effects of materials on success rate of construction of housing project in Lagos State of Nigeria. The paper highlights the impacts of construction materials on time and cost overruns. Three hundred and seventy (370) randomly selected residential projects were interviewed through the questionnaire. Project-related variables affecting the on-time delivery of materials to the construction site are examined and quantified. The material selection period, type of materials and their availability in the local market all demonstrated a significant impact on the on-time delivery of materials to construction sites.en_US
