dc.description.abstractThe significance of education is always with special reference to the learner. Children exhibit diverse traits. This paper centred on children with special needs, types and characteristics of children with special needs that teachers come in contact with. It equally discussed possible educational provision and strategies that teachers employed to help children cope in the school. Some educational programmes that could help teachers in handling different traits i children were also highlighted. The paper concluded that teachers could adopt the principle of impulsivity, learners' centred approach, synergy from stakeholders, vocational skills and entrepreneur education and exercise of practical life among others to achieve lifelong learning in children.
