Abstract

In this present century, strive for competitive advantage is one of the most important trends among the business organizations. However, this cannot be achieved without having competent employees. Furthermore, employee’s commitment and turnover rate may be a barrier. Therefore, this study examines the relationship between training, employee’s commitment, and turn over intention. The study used primary data which were sourced using questionnaire. Simple random sampling technique was to select the respondents. Frequency table and chart were used to analyse the data, and chi – square was used to test the hypothesis. Findings from the study indicate that 29% of the respondents agree and 12% of them strongly agree that they will remain with the organization for over 10 years after being trained. Also, the result of the test of hypothesis shows that employee’s commitment and turnover intention depends on training. The study therefore concludes based on its findings that employee’s training, apart from its potentials of increasing performance can also reduce employee’s turnover rate. It was thus recommended that hotel managers should make training of employees a major priority.
