Abstract

This paper investigates the flow of a viscous incompressible non-Newtonian power-law fluid along a vertical plate in an unsteady stream of fluid having viscous dissipation effect in the presence of transverse magnetic field. Governing equations of the problem were non-dimensionalised and solved be employing Crank-Nicolson finite difference scheme using MATLAB package. A discussion is provided for magnetic field (M) and thermal radiation (N) effects on the flow. It is shown that velocity distribution reduces due to a rise in thermal radiation and magnetic field parameters respectively while the temperature and concentration distributions increase with an increase in magnetic field parameter and thermal radiation parameter.
