Abstract
This article is a review of the existing oral component s in a typical oral society like Nigeria the approach use is pragmatic as this approach exposes the existing codes of the African community in terms of communication and these in essence is referred to as the African folk media which function as the channel of communication certain elements like proverbs festival dance, town-crier stands as the socio cultural property that enable folk medial-ism in the African setting
