Abstract
The Eucharist is the center of catholic spirituality and it has both spiritual and social dimensions. Over the periods of time the spiritual dimension overshadowed the social challenge. This has made the sacrament to lose its transforming effects. Using historical and analytic methods, the paper x-ray the changes overtime and brings out the social justice angle of the Eucharistic liturgy. It concludes with call to return back to the roots.
