Abstract

The globalization of Arabic studies in Nigeria presents both opportunities and challenges in an increasingly interconnected world. This paper examines strategies for integrating Arabic studies into the global academic landscape while ensuring its relevance and sustainability. Key strategies include curriculum reform to align with international standards, the adoption of digital learning tools, academic exchange programs, and collaborations with global institutions. However, significant challenges persist, including inadequate funding, limited technological infrastructure, policy constraints, and societal misconceptions about Arabic education. To ensure sustainability, the study emphasizes the need for strategic policy interventions, investment in research and innovation, and capacity-building initiatives for educators and students. A well-structured approach to globalizing Arabic studies will enhance academic excellence, foster cross-cultural understanding, and expand career prospects for graduates, ultimately contributing to Nigeria’s educational and intellectual advancement. Using a multidisciplinary approach, the study highlights policy recommendations that can enhance the global competitiveness of Arabic education in Nigeria while preserving its local relevance.
