Abstract
Travelogue is reagarded as a special literary field used in accounting for
occurences which a writer comes across in his adventures. It is also considered
as a scholarly treasury through which a writer's ideas, styles and literaly
appreciation are exposed. Wazeer Junayd Muhammad Uthman is known as the
first Nigerian to dabble into travelogue in the modern time. Several Nigeria
writters have also written travelogues that contain academic facts and different
historical happenings. This paper therefore examines the travelogue written by
Mashood Mahmud Jimba during his visit to Sayi and Niyami of the Republic of
Niger. The Researcher tries to highlight the new styles employed by the writer.
The methodologies used in the study are historical and disciptive. A paper
authored by Dr Khalil Usman Gbodofu in the history of travelogue in Nigeria
served as literature review. The paper was published in Islamic University
Multidiciplinary Journal, Uganda 2020.
