Sociology is discipline that studies human interactions as well as how man interacts with his environment. In interacting with one another in the society, there needs to be certain norms and that guide the way we relate with each other and this is where culture comes in. It comprises of the norms and values that guide the behaviours and interactions of humans in any society. Heritage on the other hand entails the tangible and intangible aspects of culture that needs to be preserved for future generations to benefit from. Both heritage and culture have their tangible and intangible aspects. Cultural heritage therefore refers to the tangible and intangible elements of culture that are passed from one generation to another. There are different values in which-cultural heritage contributes to the society as discussed in the main text. Finally, there are different challenges that cultural heritage has been faced with in recent times which can be attributed to but not limited to conflicts, ignorance and globalization among others
