    Child Abuse related Knowledge and Practice among Parents in Ilorin South Local Government Area, Kwara State, Nigeria.

    Despite long term health and economic consequences, child abuse is still in the crease it has significant global problem which has deeply rooted in our economic, cultural and social practices. this study assessed knowledge, attitudes and practice of child abuse among Adults in Ilorin South Local Government Areas. Descriptive research design was used and a systematic sampling method was used to sample 140 parents; i.e. one parent in every three household a street per wards. data for this study was collected through adopted standard instrument on child abuse practices and data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics and used to answer research questions while Chi-squre was used to test hypothesis at 0.05 level of significant and results presented on frequency/percentage and Chi-square tables. the results shows that majority 60(42.9) married respondents were in the age range of 31-50 years. the results also revealed that despite the high knowledge level about child abuse, parents still practice child abuse. the study concluded that occupation does not influence the practice of child abuse among parents in this study. the study recommended that government should intensify efforts in eradication poverty by making provision for jobs to empower the parent in the communities.

    Dichotomy between Knowledge and Utilization of Delivery Care Services among Women in Edu LGA. Kwara State, Nigeria

    this study determine the knowledge and access to delivery care services among women in Edu Local Government Area, Kwara State, Nigeria. A descriptive research design was used, two objectives were set, three research questions were answered and a null hypothesis was tested in this study. Researchers designed questionnaire was used to collect data from 360 women were purposely sampled following the ethical approval from the Local Government Authority of study area. A split-half test reliability was used to determine the reliability of the instrument and was administered on one hundred and twenty pregnant women in the study. the data were analized using frequency count, mean and standard deviation to answered reearch questions while Chi-square was used to test hypothesis at 0.05 level of significant. The result of the study shows that women of childbearing age knowledge about delivery care services was poor and also showed women poor willingness to access delivery care services in Edu LGA. based on the findings of this study, we recommended that Edu LGA, the Kwara state and Federal Ministries of Health as well as Non-Governmental organizations should institutes health education intervention and faith-based programmes to create awareness on the significance of delivery care services in community health institutions.
