    IMPACT OF JOB STRESS ON EMPLOYEES’ PERFORMANCE: A STUDY OF GUARANTY TRUST HOLDING COMPANY

    Organizations in the world have documented the alarming increase in the negative effects of stress on employee’s performance. Stress-related illnesses are viewed as the leading cause for lower productivity levels in the workplace. This study examines the impact of job stress on employees’ performance using Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, Ilorin, Kwara State. The specific objectives were to; (1)examine the extent to which workload affect the quality of service delivered by employees; (2) assess the influence of role ambiguity on employees’ task proficiency; and (3)examine the effect of role conflict on employees’ productivity. The study employed descriptive research survey design. The total population of staff was two hundred and twenty-one (221). Multi stage sampling technique was used in selecting Guaranty Trust Bank Plc staff. Taro Yamane was used in determining the sample size of one hundred and forty-two (142) respondents for the study. Primary data were collected from bank staff through structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS, Multiple regression and Pearson correlation at 0.05 significance level. The findings of the study were that; Workload has a high positive significant with the quality of service delivered by employees. The R2=0.522 with p-value =0.000<0.05; Role ambiguity significantly impact employees’ task proficiency; with R2=0.571 and p-value =0.000 which means that 52% of role ambiguity is explained by employees’ task proficiency; and Role conflict has a high positive correlation with employees’ productivity. The study therefore concluded that job stress has significant impact on employees’ performance. The study recommends that banks should ensure that employees' role are clearly stated and also ensure that each employee is assigned to a single task which will reduce their mental stress thereby increases their performance.

    Impact of Organisational Ethics on Organisational Performance (A Study of First Bank Nigeria Plc, Ilorin).

    The study seeks to examine the impact of organisational ethics on organisational performance of First Bank Nigeria plc, Ilorin, Kwara State. A sample size of 127 respondents comprising of First Bank staff from 3 different branches in Ilorin metropolis was examined. The sampling technique employed in the study was simple random sampling technique and a likert scale of 5 points. Multiple regression was used for data analysis. The results revealed that both discipline and integrity were relevant for organisational performance. The hypothesis tested showed that all variables were significant. The study therefore recommends that certain ethics need to be adopted and practiced regularly to maintain orderliness and progress within the organization and also improve the overall organizational performance.

    Marketing Strategies and the Growth of Entrepreneurial Development in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State

    A marketing strategy is the result of decisions being made about how a particular product or service will be marketed to a specific target market. Marketing strategies are important for the growth of entrepreneurial development. The general objective of this research work is to critically examine the effects of Marketing Strategies on the growth of entrepreneurial development. However, the specific objective of the study is to determine the effect of promotional marketing strategies on the growth of entrepreneurial development in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State. The study employed survey research design. The population of the study consisted of registered entrepreneurs in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State. A sample size of one hundred and fifty (150) entrepreneurs was selected using simple random sampling technique. Data was collected through structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. The result shows that there is a statistically significant effect of marketing strategies on the growth of entrepreneurial development in the selected area of the study (β = 0.76, p-value= 0.000 < 0.05). The result implies that there was a statistically significant effect of marketing strategies on the growth of entrepreneurial development in the selected area of the study. It was concluded that promotional marketing strategies have a significant effect on the growth of entrepreneurial development. This study therefore recommended that certain aspects of marketing strategies are important in an effort to achieve the growth of entrepreneurial development.
