    EFFECT OF JOB ENRICHMENT STRATEGIES ON THE PERFORMANCE OF EMPLOYEES IN KAMWIRE HOLDINGS ILORIN, KWARA STATE, NIGERIA

    The complexities of modern business operations demand a clear departure from the traditional ideological orientation of prioritizing the use of monetary rewards as the most cherished motivational tool to obtain workers concurrence and higher performance but rather a more robust work-related employee performance- oriented strategies one of which is job enrichment. This is important to avert job monotony, boredom and all forms of operationally induced workplace dissatisfaction that is associated with highly bureaucratic and over-controlled authority structure. Therefore, this study sought to examine the effect of job enrichment strategies on employee performance with reference to KAMWIRE holdings llorin. Other specific objectives of the study were to: (i) examine the effect of job enrichment strategies on employee engagement; and (ii) to determine the effect of job enrichment strategies on employee quality of work. The population of the study is 1,621 out of which 318 respondents were given questionnaire through a multi stage selection technique. Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) were adopted for analysis. The results showed that job enrichment strategies have positive and significant effect on employee engagement as well as quality of work in the organisation studied. In conclusion, job enrichment strategies have positive and quality of work. It was significant effect on employee engagement as well as recommended that organizations should improve on the latitude of opera rational freedom of their employees as well as enhance their skill variety through inter and intra departmental postings to eliminate operational and workplace boredom for improved employee and organisational performance.

    The title of the main paper is Effect of Packaging on Consumers' Decision in Nigeria Food and Beverage Industry

    The main objective of this study is to examine packaging and consumers' decision using Bigi product consumers in University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara state as a case study. The specific objectives of the study were to; (i) examine the impact of package label on product quality; and (ii) examine the impact of package design on customer patronage. The research adopted descriptive survey research design while the sampling technique adopted is simple random sampling techniques and the population of the study is 3775. A total number of three hundred and sixty-two (362) copies of questionnaires were distributed which represents the sample size and was arrived at using Taro Yamane (1967) formula and three hundred and thirteen copies of the questionnaires were filled correctly and returned and used for the analysis of this study. The responses to the questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS and hypotheses were tested using multiple linear regression at 0.05 significance level. The result of the findings revealed that package label have significant impact on product quality with r²= 0.790, and p= 0.005, 0.000 and 0.043; and package design has significant influence on customer patronage with r²= 0.796, and p = 0.000, 0.045, and 0.000. The study therefore concluded that packaging has positive effect on consumer's choice. The study recommends food and beverage industry should ensure that they improve on their product label by ensuring that it includes the certification of the product, the composition of the product as well as valid information about the product so as to enhance the quality of the product.
