    Assessment of the Effect of Small and Medium Enterprises’ Patronage on Financial Performance of Microfinance Banks in Ilorin, Kwara State

    Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) are the entire variety of money making activity within all sectors such as banking sectors and share amount of general harms that deter effective performance in many nations .However, effect of SMEs in the economy generally on microfinance banks have not been observed due to low effect of microfinance banks service products as expected to meet the required needs of entrepreneurs and to enhance the business relation of SMEs.. Therefore, it becomes imperative to examine the effect of SMEs patronage on performance of Microfinance Banks (MFBs) in Ilorin, Kwara State. The study used well-structured questionnaire to collect data from 104 employees five (5) selected Microfinance Banks (MFBs) in Ilorin Metropolis. Pearson correlation 5% level of significant was used to test the formulated hypothesis of the study. Findings of the study shows that there is a significant correlation between small and medium scale enterprise (SMEs) and product services of microfinance banks which include loan service (R=0.950), e-transacts (R=O.939), financial advisory (R=O.964) and group collection services (R=0.926) is high at 5% level of significant. The study concludes that when SMEs properly harnessed and supported by microfinance financial product services it will contribute significantly to the performance of MFBs. The study recommends that SMEs as a sub-sector of the economy improve the performance of MFBs but the growth of Micro financing industry required further improvement for better financial performance in the industry.

    Effect Of Automated Inventory Management System on Productivity In Selected Consumable Goods Manufacturing Firms In Ilorin, Kwara State.

    In today’s highly competitive business environment, organizations from all industries are striving to achieve effectiveness, cost efficiencies and economies of scale. Most of these organizations hold inventory so as to meet their customers’ needs. However, managing these inventories in order to achieve their objectives has posed a great challenge to the firms. This study was to examine the effect of automated inventory management system on productivity in selected consumable goods manufacturing firms. Survey research design was adopted for the study. The study population comprises of 600 out of which sample of 240 was selected and copies of questionnaire were administered to the respondents to obtain the necessary primary data. Multiple regression was used in testing the formulated hypothesis. The result of the analysis revealed that automated inventory system has significant influence on organizational productivity (R2 = 0.721 and p-value less than0.05) The study concluded that there was a significant effect of automated inventory system on organizational productivity. Therefore, the study recommended that firms The organization should embrace efficient inventory management practices that could ensure optimal investment in inventories as strategy for gaining competitive advantage over competitors and that organizations should also adopt more modern sophisticated techniques such as the Just-In-Time systems, Economic Order Quantity model, and so on in their operations to ensure control of inventory so as to obtain cost efficiency and effectiveness.

    Effect of Reward System on Employees’ Productivity: A Study of Guaranty Trust Bank Ilorin Metropolis

    Reward system is a veritable medium used to increase employees’ productivity. It seeks to attract and retain suitable employees, encourages good management. Employee productivity is hindered when rewards system is inadequate. The main objectives of the study were to examine the effect of reward system on employees’ productivity. This study unfolds a number of factors that account for an equitable reward system for effective performance and efficiency. The population comprises of 92 staff of the selected staff of the bank under study. Multistage sampling technique was used and 44 staff were purposefully selected for gathering data for the study. Data was collected and analyzed using frequency table and linear regression to examine the effect of reward system on employees’ productivity. Findings of the study show that there is a significant effect of reward system on employees productivity with β =.0124, .0001, p-value This implies that an increase in the covariates increase in the reward via productivity. In view of this, the study recommends that the organizations’ reward packages should be linked to productivity, employee satisfaction and motivation. Also, organization efficiency and sustainable can be achieved through institutionalization of good reward system.

    Employee Relation Practices and Organisational Performance in Nigeria

    The study seeks to determine the effect of employees’ relation practices on organizational performance, at Guaranty Trust Bank, Ilorin. A sample size of 91 respondents comprising of the Bank staff in Ilorin metropolis was chosen. The sampling technique employed in the study was simple random sampling technique. Multiple regression was used for data analysis. The results revealed that both recruitment & selection and promotion are relevant for organizational performance. The hypotheses tested showed that all the variables tested are significant. It was concluded that recruitment & selection and promotion had significant effect on organizational performance. The study therefore recommends that certain practices need to be adopted and improved upon regularly to maintain a cordial relationship with employees and also increase organizational performance.

    In view of the many challenges that business organizations are exposed to, it is imperative for them, both profit and nonprofit organizations, to anticipate challenges, identify their strengths to Meet anticipated challenges and take control of available opportunities to obtain maximum productivity. Unfortunately, in most organizations, strategic plans are not carried out and implemented properly. Therefore, this study examined the impact of strategic planning on organizational performance using a study of selected GT Bank branches in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. The study employed survey design. The population consisted of ninety-seven (97) employees of GT Bank. A sample size of seventy-eight (78) respondents was used in this study, which was determined using Taro Yamane formula. The specific objectives of the study were (1) to examine the relationship between setting objectives and profitability. (2) to determine the role of vision and mission statements on market size of GT Bank PLC. To examine the effect of strategy Evaluation on efficiency of GT Bank PLC. Descriptive statistics comprising Comment the simple percentage and tables for a detailed presentation were used. The correlation and regression analysis were adopted for this study. The findings reveal that; There is a significant relationship between setting objectives and profitability. The result shows that the calculated significance value of 0.000 is less than the chosen value of 0.05 significance level. Strategy evaluation has a significant effect on the bank’ efficiency, with strategy evaluation having B=0.815 and p-value = 0.000, which implies that an increase in strategy evaluation will result to 81.5% increase in organization’s efficiency. The study therefore concludes that strategy planning has impact on organization performance. The study recommends that organization should be specific about their objectives, ensure its appropriate formulation and communication to staff at all level of the organization. Objective should be set prior to its accomplishment so as to embrace realistic performance measurement.

    Social Loafing and Employee Performance in the Pharmaceutical Industry in Nigeria

    When it comes to performing internal environmental analyses and discussing employee performance evaluations, managers frequently underestimate the negative impact of social loafing. As a result, the issue has been looming over many firms for a long time now. The study mainly examined social loafing and employees' performance in Pharmaceutical Industry in Nigeria, employees' performance was negatively affected by social loafing. The research studied (i) how nature of task influences employee commitment in manufacturing sectors; and (ii) the extent to which group size affects employee efficiency in manufacturing industries. Specifically, the study used a survey research design, Tuyil Pharmaceutical industry was the target population and SPSS to analyze the results. To test the study hypotheses, multiple regression analysis was used. The Tuyil Pharmaceutical personnel completed and assessed 178 questionnaires for the study. Researchers used a multi-stage sampling approach for their investigation. The first hypothesis was that the nature of the task and employee commitment had a significant link with a R² value of 0.783 and a p-value of 0.05, as shown by the results of regression analysis. The R value of 0.798 and the p-value of 0.05 in the second hypothesis both suggest that the size of the group has a substantial impact on employee efficiency. The study thus concluded that social loafing has a major impact on employee performance.
