Item Adjustment Strategies for Marital Stress Among Female Teachers in Nigeria: Implication For Counselors(Indonesia Journal of Guidance and Counseling: Theory and Application, 2019-12-30) Ola-Alani, Eniola; Aminat, Adeola Odebode; Shakirat, Ojuolape GambariStress have devastating consequences when not well managed. This study thus investigated the adjustment strategies of marital stress among female primary school teachers in Nigeria. The study also examined the influence of age, number of children, type of marriage and length of years in service on the respondents ’ views. The study employed a descriptive survey method. A total of 422 female primary school teachers participated in the study. The participants responded to a researcher-designed instrument titled "Adjustment Strategies Questionnaire (ASQ)". The data were analyzed using both percentage, mean, t-test and Analysis of Variance The result showed that female primary school teachers adopt benefitting adjustment strategies. Result further showed that there were significant differences based on age, number of children, type of marriage and length of years in marriage. Recommendations were therefore made among others that counselors should encourage female primary school teachers to maintain their benefitting adjustment strategies of marital stress.Item Benefit of Moonlight Play on the Academic Development of Pupils in Irepodun Local Government Area Osun State(A Journal of Studies in Education, 2019-05) Ola-Alani, EniolaItem Effect of Family Background on Sentence Construction of Junior Secondary School Students of Olorunda Local Government Area, Osogbo, Osun state(LASU, 2022) Ola-Alani, EniolaThis study was aimed at investigating the effect of family background on sentence construction of a junior secondary school students of Olorunda Local Government Area, Osogbo Osun State. To guide the study, three research purposes, three research questions and one research hypothesis were formulated. The design adopted for this study was Ex-post Facto design. The population of the study consists of all Secondary students from the local government area. The secondary schools in the zone have a population of seven thousand, nine hundred and forty-five secondary students. Out of the fifty-three schools, twelve schools were sampled using proportionate random sampling technique. In the twelve schools, all JSII students numbering eight hundred and sixteen (816) were used as the subject of the study. The research instrument was family background effect questionnaire (FBEQ), designed by the researcher and validated by experts. The reliability of the instrument was established using Crunbach alpha method. The data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation while multiple regression was used to test the hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance. The instrument was pilot tested in Education Zone, using 30 students. The reliability coefficient was 0.69. The finding of the study revealed that: junior secondary school students in Olorunda local government area of Osogbo, Osun State have moderate level family background; these students also performed averagely in sentence construction; and there was significant correlation between family background (parental education, parental income, in occupation, family size and parental motivation) and sentence construction of junior secondary school students of Olorunda local government area of Osogbo, Osun State. Based on these findings, study recommended among others that parents should diversify their sources of income to be able to provide fund for their children’s schooling. Parents should equally realize the importance of using rewards and other measures to motivate their children.Item Factors Responsible for Students' Lateness to School as Expressed by Nigerian Teachers in Elementary Schools(Indonesia University of Education, 2019-05-06) Adegunju, Kabiru; Ola-Alani, Eniola; Agubosi, LydiaStudents’ lateness to school is one of the challenges faced by school administrators. This research therefore investigated the factors responsible for students’ lateness to school as expressed by Nigerian teachers in elementary schools. The influence of moderating variables of sex, years of teaching experience and educational qualification on the respondents’ expressions was also considered. The study is descriptive in nature and sampled 200 Nigerian teachers in elementary schools. An instrument titled ‘Factors Responsible for Lateness to School Questionnaire (FRLSQ’ was adopted to gather data. The descriptive and inferential statistics were used as methods of data analysis. It was revealed that the factors responsible for students’ lateness to school as expressed by Nigerian teachers in elementary schools are poor preparation for school, going late to bed, distance of school from home, high level of poverty, peer pressure, single parenting among others. It is concluded that the factors responsible for lateness to school are enormous.
