    Factors responsible for students’ lateness to school as expressed by Nigerian teachers in elementary schools.

    Students lateness to school is one of the challenges faced by school administrators. This research therefore investigated the factors responsible for students lateness to school as expressed by Nigerian teachers in elementary schools. The influence of moderating variables of sex, years of teaching experience and educational qualification on the respondents expressions was also considered. The study is descriptive in nature and sampled 200 Nigerian teachers in elementary schools. An instrument titled Factors Responsible for Lateness to School Questionnaire (FRLSQ was adopted to gather data. The descriptive and inferential statistics were used as methods of data analysis. It was revealed that the factors responsible for students lateness to school as expressed by Nigerian teachers in elementary schools are poor preparation for school, going late to bed, distance of school from home, high level of poverty, peer pressure, single parenting among others. It is concluded that the factors responsible for lateness to school are enormous. Practical solutions were therefore recommended.

    Mentoring strategies and secondary school effectiveness in Ilorin East Kwara State: A symbiotic examination.

    Education is a necessary tool for national development and for development to take place, it is important that teachers who are the driving force of passing instructions to students in the school must be properly mentored for them to carry out their assignments. It is on the basis of this background that this study was conducted. Descriptive survey research design was found suitable for the study. A multistage sampling technique was employed in this research and 100 respondents were selected for the study. Four research questions and hypotheses were raised and formulated and a questionnaire titled mentoring strategies and school effectiveness was developed for data gathering. The instrument was validated and the reliability co-efficient of .84 was achieved. The finding revealed that there was significant relationship between mentoring strategies and secondary school effectiveness in Ilorin East, Kwara State. It was recommended among other things that teachers should be trained using mentoring strategies and that school administrators should ensure activities which will involve pairing new with experienced teachers so that they will gain new experience from the models.

    The impact of child labour on academic achievement of primary school pupils in Ilorin East, Kwara State, Nigeria.

    This study assessed the impact of Child labour on academic achievement of pupils in public primary schools in Ilorin East Local Government, Kwara State, Nigeria. Two research questions were raised and were tested with two null hypotheses. Survey research design was adopted. The population for the study was all the eighty-three public primary schools in Ilorin East Local Government. Five schools were selected as sample and forty respondents from classes 5 and 6 from each school were randomly selected for the study, making total of two hundred respondents. The instruments used for data collection was the score in the report card of the students for 2015/2016 academic session. Frequency distribution and percentages were used to analyze the demographic data obtained from the respondents while a t-test was used to test the null hypotheses generated at 0.05 level of significance. The findings showed that, there is a significant difference in the academic achievement of children exposed to child labour and those who are not in public primary schools in Ilorin East Local Government, and there is a significant difference in the academic performance of male and female children exposed to child labour in public primary schools in Ilorin East Local Government, Kwara State. The study recommended among others that children exposed to labour should be given equal right to attend school regardless of any engagement in labour activity. It also recommended that government/parents should develop strategies to reduce or eradicate child labour activities.

    Using procedural and conceptual colour stimulation-game as an instructional gizmo for Nigerian students.

    the effect of colour stimulation-game on Nigerian Junior secondary school creative arts by adopting quasi-experimental research design with 60 junior secondary schools of three co-educational, from Private, Public and Federal Secondary Schools using simple random sampling technique to randomly select The three secondary schools assigned to both experimental and control groups. With the aid of two instruments which were The Colour Stimulation-game and Colour Stimulation-Game Achievement Test(CSGAT), the data was collected. Frequency counts and percentage distribution, mean, standard deviation, independent t-test, ANOVA and ANCOVA were used to analyse the data demographic information, the research question and the hypothesis generated respectively. The researcher found out that the students taught with Stimulus perform better after treatment than the student taught with conventional teaching method, students taught with Colour Stimulus game performed better when exposed to treatment than their students taught with conventional teaching method and female students taught with Colour Stimulus game performed better than their male students. It was recommended that that creative arts instructors should utilizes, colour stimuli game and reducing conventional method do asto impact the appropriates knowledge for students.
