Item Guidnace and Counselling of Adult Learners as a Catalyst for Sustainable Community development in Kwara State(Nigerian National Council for Adult Education, 2018-06) Olawuni, Abiodun Olufemi; Noibi, Tajudeen OluwafemiThis paper examined the concept of Guidance and counselling of Adult learners as a catalyst for sustainable community development in Kwara State, Nigeria. The paper established that guidance and counselling influence adult learners on personal development and attitude formation in llorin metropolis. Four research hypotheses were generated to guide the study. The objectives were to establish the influence of adult learners' on personal development, attitude formation, career he exploration and entrepreneurship development for sustainable community development in Kwara Stake. The study used the descriptive survey research design. The population of the study comprised all adult learners in Kwara State while a sample of One hundred and eighty (180) was purposively selected for the study. Data were collected with the use of validated instrument tagged Guidance and Counselling of Adult Learners for sustainable community development (GCALSCD). Data obtained were analyzed using mean and standard deviation analyses to test the four research questions. Results of the anaĆysis indicated that guidance and counselling influence adult learners on personal development, attitude formation, career exploration and entrepreneurship development for sustainable community development in Kwara State. The study showed the importance of guidance and counselling of adult learners for sustainable community development in Kwara State.Item Intervention of NGOs for Sustainable Community Development in Ilorin-South Local Government Area of Kwara State(Faculty of Arts & Science, Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State, 2018-12) Olawuni, Abiodun Olufemi; Noibi, Tajudeen OluwafemiSustainable community development of not new and it enhances the idea of serving the present need of community people and meeting the need of generation unborn in that same communities. The intervention of Non-governmental Organizations and their contributions cannot be over emphasised. That is why this paper is trying to examine the intervention of Non-governmental organizations for sustainable community development in llorin-South. The data collected from this study were quantified using descriptive statistic, mean and standard deviation for the research questions. The findings show that there are many private, social and religious owned NGOs in the local government area of study. The findings also revealed that the role of NGOs improves the sustainable community development projects in the area of study as well. The result also revealed that NGOs fund the sustainable community development projects and that there are many NGOs in llorin-South Local Government Area. It was also established that NGOs play an important roles in improving sustainable community development projects that available in their communities for the betterment of their living. The paper recommended that NGOs should continue to intervene in community development services for the social, economic, welfare and development of peoples' communities. Also, NGOs should focus their interventions on activities that would enable them to reduce the marginalised and disadvantaged sectors of the communities to improve the circumstances of the communities' livelihood for sustainable community development in their communities.Item Level of Involvement of Adult Learners in Lifelong education as a Catalyst for Sustainable Community Development in Kwara State Nigeria(Department of Adult and Primary Education, University of Ilorin, 2017-11) Olawuni, Abiodun Olufemi; Noibi, Tajudeen OluwafemiThis paper examined the level of involvement of adult learners as a catalyst for sustainable community development. The objectives were to establish the relationship of adult learners' gender, distance, level of income and qualifications to their level of involvement in lifelong education for sustainable community development in Kwara State. The study used the descriptive survey research design. The population of the study comprised all adult learners in Kwara State while a sample of two hundred and forty (240) was purposively selected for the study. Data were collected with the use of validated instrument tagged Adult Learners' involvement in lifelong education (ALILE). The content validity of the instrument was established using expert judgment and the test re-test reliability index of the instrument was 0.68. Data obtained were analyzed using t- test and ANOVA statistical analyses to test the four research hypotheses raised. Results of the analysis indicated that there was no significant relationship between adult learner significant relationship was found between adult learners' qualification and their level of involvement in gender distance, level of income and their level of involvement in lifelong education.
