Item Administrative and sociological variables as correlates of athletes’ performance in Nigeria school sports federation in North-Central States, Nigeria(2022-08-28) Falaye Elijah Kayode; Memunat Tunrayo Ajadi; Abdulraheem Yinusa Owolabi; A. A. AdesoyeThis study examined administrative and sociological variables as correlates of athlete's performance in Nigeria School Sports Federation in North-Central States, Nigeria. The objectives of the study were to: (i) determine the relationship between parental influence and athletes performance in NSSF competition (ii) ascertain the relationship between funding and athlete's performance in NSSF competition. Descriptive design of correlation type was adopted for the study. The population for the study comprised sports officers, coaches and NSSF coordinators. Purposive and proportionate random sampling techniques were used to select 585 respondents. Validated researcher designed structured questionnaire which was tested for reliability with a reliability coefficient of 0.80 was used for data collection. Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used for data analysis at 0.05 alpha level. The result of the findings: there was a significant relationship between parental influence and athletes performance in NSSF competition, there was a significant relationship between funding and athletes performance in NSSF competition. The study concluded that sports officers, coaches and NSSF coordinators contributed to brilliant performance of athletes in Nigeria's school sports federation in North-central states Nigeria. The implication is that sports officers, NSSF coordinators and coaches play critical roles in achieving the excellent performance of athletes in school sports competition.Item Impact Of Management Functions On Appointment Of Football Referees In Nigeria Premier League(2023-02-02) Memunat Tunrayo AjadiThis study investigated impact of management functions on appointment of football referees in Nigeria premier league. The objectives were to examine the relationship between remuneration, recruitment process on appointment of football referee. Descriptive research design of survey type was adopted. The population for this study comprises of all football referees both active and retired. Purposive sampling techniques were used to select 150 respondents. A researcher structured questionnaire was used to gather information for the study. The instrument was validated by experts and tested for reliability through test retest method using Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC). The administration of instrument was done by the researcher and two trained research assistants. The data collected were analysis using descriptive statistics of percentage to analysed the research questions while inferential statistics of Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) was used to test the formulated hypotheses set for the study at 0.05 alpha level. The result revealed that there was a significant relationship between remuneration and recruitment processes and appointment of football referees in Nigeria premier league. The study therefore recommends that the recruitment and appointment of the referees should be based on merit and their remuneration should be conform with the FIFA standard.Item Item Influence of teaching resources on physical education teachers effectiveness in Kwara State, Nigeria(2022-01-29) Memunat Tunrayo Ajadi; Falaye Elijah KayodeEffective teachers are those who achieved the aims and objective of education at large. It is in view of this that this paper examined influence of teaching resources on physical education teachers effectiveness in Kwara state, Nigeria. The objectives of the study were (i) determine the influence of use of instructional materials on teachers effectiveness in physical education (ii) assess the influence of curriculum on teachers effectiveness in physical education. The population was 250 teachers, while a sample of 150 respondents were used for the study. Two hypotheses were postulated and tested for the study. Questionnaire was used to collect data from the respondents and chi-square (x2) statistical tool was used to analyze the data. The findings revealed that use of instructional materials and curriculum are fundamental to teachers effectiveness in teaching physical education in schools. Sequel to the findings of the study, it was concluded that government should organized seminars and workshop for teachers in form of training and re-training programme so as to enhance their effectiveness in teaching and learning of physical education.Item Management of Sports Budgeting on Maintenance of Facilities in Kwara State Sports Council, Nigeria(2022-04-03) Falaye Elijah Kayode; Memunat Tunrayo AjadiThe purpose of this study was to investigate the management of sports budgeting on facility maintenance in the Kwara State Sports Council. For this study, a descriptive research design of the survey type was used. The study's population consisted of all 110 Kwara Sports Council employees. For this study, multistage sampling techniques were used. To group the departments in the study area, stratified sampling techniques were used. All 110 respondents were chosen using the purposive sampling technique. The study's instrument was a researcher-structured questionnaire. The instrument was validated by three lecturers from the Department of Human Kinetics Education at the University of Ilorin, and the instrument's reliability was established using the test-re-test method with Pearson Product Moment (PPMC). The correlation co-efficient was calculated to be 0.65. The researchers and three trained research assistants administered the instrument. The collected data were analyzed using chi-square inferential statistics with a 0.05 alpha level. The findings revealed that bureaucratic processes, zero-based budgeting, and bottom-up budgeting have a significant impact on sports facility maintenance. The study recommends that no bureaucratic processes be used in the selection of sports budgeting in order to improve sports facility maintenance.
