A.Cash has being the major mode of payment in Nigeria and this has made Nigeria to become a heavily cash-based economy and thus lead to high rate of robbery; high cost of printing cash as well as high cost of holding cash. As shown by statistics, the cost of cash management in Nigeria in 2009 was N114.5 billion which was projected to stand at 200 billion in 2020. This lead to the introduction of cash-less economic policy in Nigerian in 2011 but commenced operation on April 1, 2012. However, there has been much speculation, debate as well as discussion about the challenges that may hinder the successful implementation of the policy in terms of political and economic instability, security issues and high rate of illiteracy in the country. This study therefore adopted a descriptive analysis to review the effects of cashless policy on financial institutions and e-business in Nigeria. Some recommendations were made which include the collaboration between CBN and the National Assembly to enact proper legislation that would make the policy effective; and that ATMs, POS systems and other mediums should be expanded to touch at least 40 percent of the whole economy.Item The effect of cashless policy on financial institutions and E-business in Nigeria(Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Ilorin, Nigeria, 2014) Sofoluwe, A. This study therefore examines lecturers' perception about distributed leadership in public universities in Nigeria. A quantitative research design was employed to collect data from lecturers in public universities in North-central geopolitical zone of Nigeria. A total of 160 questionnaires were distributed and only 101 were usable for data analysis. SPSS version 20 was used for data analysis. The findings of the study revealed that distributed leadership was not adequately practiced in the sampled universities. However, the result of the t-test analysis shows that there is no significant difference in the lecturers perception about distributed leadership based on the school type and their gender. Therefore, it is suggested that the university management should improve their effort towards distributed leadership.Item Managing university education for national transformation in Nigeria(Nigerian Association for Educational Administration and Planning (NAEAP), 2012) Sofoluwe, A. However, there has been a decline in the quality of graduates produced. This study was carried out to determine the impact of quality academic process on student development. The study adopted a survey research method where an instrument titled quality academic process questionnaire (QAPQ) and student development questionnaire (SDQ) were administered on faculty members in public universities in Nigeria. Out of 450 questionnaires that were given out, only 305 were returned and usable for data analysis after the data cleaning. The findings of the study revealed that university curriculum, instruction, assessment, research and development significantly determined the quality of student development while service learning was found not to be significantly related to student development. An adapted questionnaire comprising 77 items was administered to faculty members in two public universities in Nigeria. The data gathered were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis with SPSS 20.0 and SmartPLS 3.1.2 respectively. The findings of this study shows that process management is a third order reflective model with multidimensional constructs. The two dimension of process management: administrative process and academic process has four and five dimensions respectively. The process management scale will therefore facilitate the identifications of elements that influence the effectiveness of higher education. The practical implications and methodological limitations are discussed.
