The aim of this study is to examine the impacts of public libraries on the promotion of knowledge societies among civil servants in Oyo State, Nigeria. The total population was 570, and the sample size was 235 using a simple random sampling technique. The research design adopted was a descriptive survey. A questionnaire was used as an instrument for data collection, and a descriptive data analysis technique of frequency and the simple percentage was used. Findings revealed, firstly, that public libraries promote knowledge societies among civil servants through their collections, resources, and internet facilities to enhance the civil service culture. Secondly, public libraries have contributed significantly to improving and promoting knowledge societies as the civil servants make judicious use of the library facility to promote knowledge societies. Raosoft calculator was used to select sample size of the study at 95 % level of confidence. So, the total population for this study thus 382. Method: Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics of frequency count and percentages while Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) was used to test the two hypotheses of the study. Findings: The study revealed that majority of undergraduates’ are of opinion that users education has being a major mechanism to effective utilization of electronic information resources in University of Ilorin and Kwara state university Conclusion: The study also concluded that textbooks, journals, indexes and abstracts, newspapers, CD-Rom and databases, internet are major information resources provision in the selected universities while the provision of Video tapes/cassettes are less provided in the libraryItem Utilization of Electronic Surveillance System in Curbing Theft and Mutilation of Library Resources at Kwara State University, Malete, Nigeria(International Journal of Knowledge Processing Studies (KPS), 2022-02-27) Abdulqaudir Olamilekan Yusuf; K. T. Omopupa; Kabir Alabi Sulaiman; Abdullahi Rasaq MaitoThis study investigated the utilization of an electronic surveillance system in curbing theft and mutilation in Kwara State University, Malete, Nigeria.
