Item Causes of Marital Infidelity among Married Residents of Ilorin Metropolis, Kwara State, Nigeria.(Department of Educational Management, Faculty of Education, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria, 2024) Ologele, I.; Kperogi, I. I.; Ibrahim, A. S.; Sayofunmi, O. F.; Isiaka, G.; Ogundiran, G. B.This study investigates the causes of marital infidelity among married residents in Ilorin metropolis, Kwara State. A descriptive research design of the survey type was used for this study. The population for the study comprises all married residents in Ilorin metropolis. A multistage sampling technique was used to select three hundred and eighty-three (383) respondents who participated in the study. A researcherdesigned structured questionnaire validated by three experts in the Department of Health Promotion and Environmental Health Education, University of Ilorin. The reliability of the instrument was ascertained through the test re-test method. A reliability coefficient of 0.74 was obtained. The three postulated hypotheses were tested using the parametric statistics of t-test, mean and standard deviation at 0.05 alpha level. The findings of this study showed that childlessness, lack of sexual satisfaction and distance between spouses were responsible for the marital infidelity in the study area. Based on the findings of the study, it was concluded that childlessness, lack of sexual satisfaction between spouses and distance between spouses were among the causes of marital infidelity among married residents in Ilorin metropolis. It was recommended that married residents should be informed that procreation is not the basis of marriage, the married partner should be able to adjust to the sexual demands of each other and spouses should not be far from each other, they should keep a close distance from each otherItem Determinants of Stress among Undergraduate Students at the Faculty of Education, University of Ilorin, Nigeria(Department of Educational Foundations, Kenyatta University, Kenya, 2021) Ologele, I.; Abdulraheem, A. M.; Isiaka, G.Stress has become part of students’ academic life due to the various expectations placed upon their shoulders. Undergraduate students are particularly vulnerable to the problems associated with academic stress. It is essential to comprehend the factors that determine stress among undergraduate students if we are to gain sufficient and proficient intervention strategies. Therefore, the study investigates the factors that determine stress among Undergraduate students at the faculty of Education, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria. Descriptive survey design method was adopted for the study. The Undergraduate students at the faculty of Education, University of Ilorin, Nigeria constituted the study population. Two hundred and forty (240) Undergraduate students formed the sample size. The respondents were selected for the research using a multi-stage sampling technique. A structured questionnaire that had been validated by 3 experts from the related fields was used as a research instrument. Consistency of the instrument was established through a test-retest approach and the result of 0.86r was obtained. Inferential statistics of chi-square were used to analyze the outcomes of the data collected. The findings revealed that academic, environmental and personal factors constitute stress among undergraduate students. The researcher recommends among other things that the university authority should reduce the number of elective courses allocated for undergraduate students to ease their stress exposure to excess academic workload.Item Effects of Computer-Based Animation on Undergraduate Performance in First Aids Concept of Health Science.(Department of Science and Technology Education, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria, 2020) Ologele, I.; Odewunmi, M. O.; Olubunmi, R. I.; Isiaka, G.; Oyeyinka, A. J.Animation is a form of technology for teaching and learning instruction. However, despite its relevance and usefulness to learning, its integration to learning of health science by undergraduate have not been established. Therefore, this study examined the effectiveness of computer-based animation for learning of First aid. The study also investigated the influence of gender on the performance of the students. The quasi experimental of pre and post-test was used. The study used 200 level undergraduates of department of Health sciences from university of Ilorin. Students were divided into two groups of experimental and conventional based on their gender. The instruments were Computer-based Animation Package, First aid Test and guides. First aid test was trial tested with reliability of 0.73 with test-retest method using Pearson product moment correlation. Hypotheses were tested with ANCOVA and t-test analysis at 0.05 level of significance. Finding revealed that students exposed to CAP performed significantly and gender of students did not influence students performance. It recommended that lecturers of health sciences should use computer-based animation in their teaching.Item Perceived Potency of Herbal Medicines for Treatment of Illnesses among Residents of Odo-otin Local Government Area, Osun State, Nigeria(The Department of Counsellor Education, Faculty of Education, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria, 2021) Ologele, I; Salami, K. A.; Ilutonmihi, O.; Isiaka, G.; Abraham, J. O.herbal medicine is the use of herbs or medicinal plants properties for the prevention and treatment of illnesses.' It takes the form of concoction, decoction and infusion. The researchers observed common usage of herbal medicines among residents of Odo-Otin Local Government Area, Osun State, Nigeria and there was a claimed of efficacy of these herbs despite not fully integrated in healthcare. The purpose of study therefore, was to investigate the perceived potency of; (i) candle bush flower (senna alata) and boundary tree leave (newboldia leavis) for the treatment of pile and diarrhea. A descriptive research design of the survey type was employed for this study. The population of the study comprised all herbal medicine users in Odo-Otin Local Government Area, Osun State, Nigeria. Multi-stage sampling procedure which consists of purposive and snowball sampling techniques used to select 384respondents for the study. A researchers developed questionnaire validated by three experts in the Department of Health Promotion and and Environmental Health Education, University of Ilorin, Nigeria was used for the study and tested for reliability using a split-half method. A reliability coefficient of 0.75 was obtained using obtained using the Spearman Brown Prophesy Formula. Relevant data collected by the researchers and three trained research assistants. Inferential statistics of Chi-square was used to test the hypotheses formulated for the study at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of the study indicated that, the use of candle bush flower was perceived as significantly potent for the treatment of pile because the calculated value of (25.21) greater than the table value of (21.03) at 12 degree of freedom, the use of boundary tree leaves was perceived as significantly potent for the treatment of diarrhea because the calculated value of (28.33) greater than the table value of (21.03) at b12 degree of freedom. The study concluded that candle bush flower and boundary tree leave are potency for the treatment of pile and diarrhea. Therefore, it was recommended that candle busy flower and boundary tree leave should be further subjected to NAFDAC test and if found effective, should be considered for the treatment of pile and diarrhea.
